Trump on Comey on the 31st of October 2016...
“It took guts for Director Comey to make the move that he made in light of the kind of opposition he had where they’re trying to protect her [Hillary Clinton] from criminal prosecution. What he did, he brought back his reputation. He brought it back.”
Trump on Comey in May 2017...
"I was going to fire Comey, knowing there was no good time to do it. And, in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said, ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.’”
Trump on Comey in September 2018...
"If I did one mistake with Comey, I should have fired him before I got here. I should have fired him the day I won the primaries," Trump said. "I should have fired him right after the convention, say I don't want that guy. Or at least fired him the first day on the job. ... I would have been better off firing him or putting out a statement that I don't want him there when I get there.”
Could it be that Trump is trying to establish a motive for firing Comey that does not involve obstruction of justice?
Could it be you're a COMPLETE FUCKING IDIOT and don't seem to realize that the October 31, 2016 quote was stated BEFORE Trump was President and hence he OBVIOUSLY wasn't fully aware of information pertinent to the investigation at that point in time and that the September 2018 quote was him reflecting on what he should've done if he knew then what he knows now?!
You know, Caputh, I can't decide what's funnier: you still not being able to admit Zappa was a libertarian/conservative or that by almost every single economic metric, Trump's #s are CRUSHING Obama's? I'll have to get back to you on that one...

Trump is suggesting in his 2018 interview that he should have fired Comey at the earliest immediately after he was elected Republican Candidate and at the latest in November 2016. This would have been totally illegal (despite your weird belief that he was somehow able to act as president before being inaugerated). The suggestion here is that the reason for his firing was his obvious incompetence.
This stands in direct contrast with his statement in May 2017 that he was firing him because of the Russia investigation. This second quote indicates obstruction of justice.
This possibly explains why
a) Trump has unsuccessfully accused interviewer Lester Holt of "fudging his tape" in the May 2017 interview. The tape has, however, turned out to be "unfudged".
b) Why Trump is trying to cover his tracks by claiming that he wanted to fire Comey all along and that it had nothing to do with Russian collusion. This stands in further contrast with his statement from October 2016.
c) We therefore have 3 conflicting Trumpian positions...
i) Comey is really groovy.
ii) Comey is not really groovy because he is investigating Trump's Russian collusion.
iii) Comey was never groovy and should have been got rid of before any talk of any collusion started because he was incompetent.
I was considering updating the "How to insult people" thread, but your insults are so awfully one-dimensional at the moment; "FUCKING IDIOT" and "moron" and

is all you've got?
BTW, a 62.7% Labour Participation rate in November 2017 (your fictional date for the begin of Trump's presidency) is still the same as a 62.7% Labour Force Participation Rate today. As, under Obama, you claimed that this was the only important economic factor and that any other improvements in the economy were signs of an "artificial" recovery and that "because of Obamination's spending & socialist BS, America and much of the world will endure one of the worst depressions in history in 5...4...3...2...", I'm not neccesarily sure that many trust your acumen as the regards the economy.
As to Zappa's Libertarianism, my take on his views is reflected by the following two, rather long quotes...
"There was a thing earlier this year when the Libertarian party was talking to me about running. But I didn't like their platform. It contradicts itself. There are certain things, I mean I'm absolutely a Libertarian on many issues, but if you read the platform, here's an example: the platform says that the money that was taken away, er, the property that was taken away from Japanese citizens during World War Two when they put them in the concentration camps should be returned to them - I agree with that. But the next page it says: "We're against Eminent Domain".
So how can a government or a platform presumably leading to a government accomplish the resititution to the Japanese citizens without Eminent Domain? Magic wand, perhaps?
Then it says people have the right to their own dignity, they have the right to, they own themselves, the government does not own them, you should have the right to be your own person - I agree. Sounds like very nice civil rights stuff. Then you turn the page and it says if a guy owns a lunch counter and he doesn't want to have a black man eating at his lunch counter, he can turn him away. It's hard to balance that stuff out and be a doctrinaire Libertarian candidate, if their own platform doesn't quite add up. The day they straighten out their platform, I might take another listen, but that's the situation." ~ Frank Zappa, Rochester, NY, March 11, 1988
"I was contacted by the Libertarian Party. They came here, and they wanted me to run for president on their ticket. And, I said, "Well, show me what your platform is ... And if I like it, I'll consider it." This guy flew here from Norman, Oklahoma, and we had, like, a 5 hour meeting right here in this room. That was about 3 months ago, just before their convention. And, I went thru their platform, and I studied it, and I looked at it, and some of the stuff I liked, and some of it I didn't. And I said, "I can't really stand up and support your platform whole heartedly because some of the stuff you have in here is either wrong or stupid. And, in order for me to be a candidate for your party, would they, in fact, nominate me if I couldn't be an ideologue and go the whole 9 yards." And, he said it was doubtful they would support you at the convention if you didn't just spew the whole thing. And I said; "Well, I'm not your boy. Thanks a lot. Goodbye."

http://www.afka.net/Articles/1988_Mother_People.htmYour take on his Libertarianism is to take 8 words from the first quote...
"...I'm absolutely a Libertarian on
MANY issues..."
