David Luther seems like a very talented musician. He should fit in well. His last gig was/is? playing on Meat Loaf's tours.

The new tour with the new members starts September 29. I haven't heard any official reason for the change and whether it was his decision or Dweezil's. Maybe Deeezil just wanted to change things up a little bit and saw an opportunity to get a more accomplished player in the band and the new guy basically covers all the bases that Ben used to.

Cool. Ryan the drummer has a Tubes shirt on. I like him even more now.

Ike is scheduled to be a special guest at a couple shows in the mid west - not the whole tour.

The rumor I heard, before I found out he was actually out of the band, was that he and a certain guitar player flat out did not get along.

Which is a shame, I love Ike.

It took 7 years too figure that out???

Ben had grown into that role so well and expanded his instruments...that last tour Ben was a solid front man with the audiance, I have to believe there was a little more meat to the reason...but I don't know shit.... :smoke:

Ben is, first and foremost, an actor, so I am sure that lots of people didn't see the tension, or, perhaps they didn't care.
I really grew to like Ben, but as long as a certain multi-instrumentalist doesn't leave, I am fine with whomever dz puts on the stage.

Totally agree, the changes over the years have been managed well by the Band Leader (unnamed above) a good front man is hard to find and I will reserve judgement until I see the new line-up...I am sure all will be fine, maybe with DZ going it alone from the ZFT we can see more alumni, a hatchet I thought should have been buried long ago...

Saw them last week, aside from the new girl singing a few songs I wish she hadn't like Inca Roads and Illinois Enema Bandit, the new band is really really good.
This is easily my favorite show since the first two tours.
PS. New girl Cian Ceoy can sang.

I saw the newest lineup last Sunday at Hampton Beach NH, it's the first time I've seen them with Cian and without Ben. I really didn't care for Ben all that much, he always struck me as the weak link in the band. When I first saw Cian, I wasn't sure what to expect, she didn't impress me that much in the beginning of the show, but she proved me wrong when she really belted it out on Zomby Woof. Wow! I didn't expect that sound to come out of such a petite little woman like her. I met her after the show during the autograph session (got my hat signed by all the band members) and told her that I was impressed with her performance.
The current band lineup is the best it's ever been. Scheila has always been phenominal, but keeps getting better, Kurt is killer on the bass, Ryan Brown is mesmerizing on the drums and Dweezils guitar playing gets more advanced every time I see him.
