Hi,

How I wish Portland, Oregon had such taste in music ... when I suggested to the jerkoff composer of the local symphony to do some Frank Zappa, I knew right away that he was some classical music jerk, and would never listen to Frank's works, or even consider looking at 2 measures on a score. they keep bringing the same boring old crap ... ohh excuse me ... Pink Martini ... in case you need to get excited!

the sax player has been a close friend since grade school, he's the one who turned me on to zappa

he's played with plenty of top musicians over the years, studio & tours with aretha franklin, roberta flack, diane krall, robbie rox & vinnie ! ... he told me about this show in june when we hooked up in toronto ... the organizer was trying to get permission for many months, but wasn't getting much joy, sounds like he finally succeeded

PROJECT/OBJECT will be back on the road for a brief (?) run, from APR 7 to APR 30 2016.

We will hit the Northeast USA, as far West as Chicago (Sorry CA, CO, OR, WA, AZ, TX! We are really trying to find a way to get out there later this year -- stay tuned!!)

This run features our longtime touring partner and perennial Zappa fan favorite IKE WILLIS. Also on board for the first time since 2004: our dear friend and synthesizer legend DON PRESTON !

This tour will of course feature material both men recorded with The Mothers Of Invention (Don) and the Zappa band 1978-1988 (Ike), as well as material they perhaps didn't play on initially, but performed live with Zappa. Some of them are just songs the guys enjoy playing! Either way -- don't miss this special combination of beloved Zappa Alumni, who happen to be old friends.

In this, the 50-year Anniversary since Zappa's debut album FREAK OUT, we once again humbly give THANKS and pay tribute to the enormous body of work he left.

THANK YOU FRANK ZAPPA. 1940-1993

Both Buffalo & Rochester are about a 45 min drive for me, but no thanks. Maybe if there was nothing else going on that month, but I have a half-dozen other shows to see in April.
Saw P/O enough from '98-'02, all good times. I know what to expect with them, and I just don't need to see it again. That's freaking awesome though that Don Preston is at 80+ & still gets in the van.

Middle America? Isn't that where those midgets live in that Tolkein book?

Not a single show, but The Empty Bottle in Chicago has FZ on its Friends of the Bottle Gold Pass for entry into any of their events all year long. Its $500, so I don't have one, but for those who do, they get Crumb's FZ!
