Not so with the Kaptain. He looks just like I though he would.

Thanks cal. I try! :)

We made it back, now I get to drive 450 miles tomorrow for work... :x ...I will post pictures as time allows...

Tom! My favourite FZ bassist!

Poor Tom's been having some trouble with numbness down his left arm and hand. He's seeing some new Dr's about it, it's got him worried though. Did you know he was with Ray Charles' band before FZ? I didn't know (or forgot) until I listened to Scott Parkers Podcast, featuring PIB on *nice*. It's worth a listen just for the interview and has some great music in it too. He's got a great, really dry sense of humor and is a pleasure to talk to but mostly to listen to. He had some interesting tales about each of FZ's bands he was in and the Alumni now playing around too.

It was really nice to finally meet PIB! A kindred spirit fer sure! :D

Not to mention, Richard Drakes, Tommy and Lisa Quirk, Dave (The Noodler), Gary Bretton Granatoor aka GBGM <(I think) on DZW, AG. 8) :D

We had a very special guest, *Rachel* who's blind but not handicapped. She played keys and sang on Inca Roads, no easy feat for any musician!

A good time was had by all!

Not being the social animal that KK is I regrettably didn't make as many connections as KK but I did meet some nice folks.

Kaptain - I think Tom's involvement with Ray Charles was at the end of Ray's career - way after Zappa. Cool that Tom worked with two men who were both called genius.

Let me guess. He's the hippie guy that looks like Beefheart.

Very good, waka. I used to joke that KK looked like David Crosby before he (KK) lost a little weight.

And yes but also - maybe if Willie Nelson ever needs a stunt double.

I have to hit the ground running for work but more pics and reviews will come, I am sure the Kap, KU, PIB will add reviews also.

We also shot a full video and could put together a short documentary if wanted...

What a fantastic night! I've got a bunch of photos as well. I'll post some up when I finish decompressing. It's a shame I didn't end up getting to hang with you guys at Jason's gig the next night. Until next time!

I was up for it, but those old farts wanted to leave at the crack of dawn...then Plook lets AG sleep in! Grrr!
They said the gig was from 10-2am and we'd have to take a taxi both ways. So that wasn't really conducive to us leaving by 8:00am the next morn.... and then with a hangover taboot!

*Niiiiiiiiiiice* to meet you and have some Zappa fun at DZpZ, PIB! 8) :D

Shoulda coulda woulda. I actually got dropped off at Harrah's over by you guys to meet up with John and we both ended up walking all the way over there anyhow - just killin' some time and people watching. Then we dropped John off after the show. Oh well....

I've got an awesome video of Plook and you dancing but neither of you probably want that one shown - hahaha :smoke:

'Taint no big thang, we danced too... until I tried to lead!
When Plook grabbed me to dance I said "they're playing Dead Girls of London, I'll play the girl" and went limp in his arms after a minute of that "dancing". He could wear out anyone dancing...its more like Freak Out exercise mano e mano style.

You were much more gentle and *Niiiiice* imho.

Bwahahah!

Oh yes, we need to see that. I only think Plook and KK would be disappointed if you didn't share that. Me too.
