Before y'all get crazy worked up, we are going to do West Coast in Dec. We are announcing a tour on tues for Sept that doesnt have West Coast, which I know will have some people not reading this a bit miffed, but West Coast is coming

South America was huge for ZPZ. If you only knew some of the craziness leading up to it. I'm so happy it went off the way it did. We played in front of 2100+ over two days in Argentina and about 1500 people over two days in Chile. Probably could have done only one show in each market. Next time...

We didn't technically sell out any of the shows, but it did better than the promoters were gambling on and that's really all I cared about first time in.
And the shows themselves were really hot

So they're selling themselves and doing a great job at it too! Outta site & good to know. A guy on fb has been posting (Stucco Homes) some pix of him and DZ in Argentina. The audience looked really excited and groovin' to FZ's tunes in his photos. I'm glad they finally got a Zappa to play some Zappa down that way. Here's to continued success! :D 8)

Bummer about the Rochester gig. DZ said the door was locked when they arrived to load in.

Yeah, real shitty deal. No real explanation from venue, promoter or ZPZ other than brief statement on facebook  . "Circumstances beyond our control"?
I'll translate that to advance ticket sales were weak, venue would have been at most half-full. Venue/promoter wasn't putting up guarantee pre-show, and ZPZ wouldn't budge. Can't say I blame ZPZ if that's how it went down.

Word was out for last four months about this show. There would have been a lot of "pay-at-door" attendees. No need for the average fan to buy tix in advance, being it's a GA room. Buffalo just had a show 4 months ago, and Utica(2 hrs the other way down the 90) gets an outdoor show on a Saturday night.
Fuck this venue Water Street Music Hall. They've been known for shady business. I'll make sure to leave them a nasty email. I doubt it's the promoter Dan Smalls Presents fault. They seem like a stand-up operation.

That and demand is currently 30-50% of what it was compared to the first two years since a) ZPZ hit most of these markets every single year and b) there's no alumni in the line-up any longer...
