No, techie Pete Jones, who made that photo. I spent quite some time talking with him in 2010 (to the point other techies came out wondering why he hadn't come back yet) and have met him a few times since.

Lots of Europe dates up on facebook for October. I hope the west coast US dates will be in December, as usual.

Sweden gets a Halloween show.

If you are talking about the pic last page Pete is not in it, that is the band we saw in SLO:

Dweezil Zappa: Guitar
Scheila Gonzalez: Saxophone, Flute, Keyboards & Vocals
Ben Thomas: Vocals
Chris Norton: Keyboards
Kurt Morgan: Bass
Ryan Brown: Drums

They're really good Bonny don't pass on a show it presents itself... :!:

Wrong photo. Look further down, at the equipment photo with the "photo by Pete Jones" tag. All will become clear(er).

My bad, he still tours and sings with the band, I had a lenghty conversation with him and the new sound guy outside SLO Brewery...Pete has recorded every show since he has been a touring sound engineer with ZPZ, another vault...

Pete's a great singer isn't he? In 2010 he sang King Kong to me and I was amazed at how accurately he sang that.

Maybe some chipped beef ?
I wouldn't put it pass Ben to return a pressed ham or two when they get to London.

^How do you know it's first? Based on the Apostrophe and R&E tours it's likely. But it's such a great album, anywhere in the set is fine. Remember; Sofa #2 is the last song on the album. It would make a great closer before the encores.

My two cents.

When they feature an album they play the album in its entirety as recorded, they may open with another song to set the stage, but they will play that feature album first. The additional 1 hour or so set of music has me very excited since the SLO mix which appeared less than optimum on paper turned out to be beyond excellent when played by this super tight band, great mix, they really know what they are doing now.

The setlist reminds us that We Are Not Alone.

In the part where they have introduced Sinister Footwear, for my ears, that further adds to the Ancient Aliens aspect of the material. I don't know as of yet what Dweezil is doing with the solo section, but I am sure he will do something amazing,... in the moment. There is something about that composition, FZs Sinister Footwear II solo, Halloween 1981 at The Palladium. I would take that performance and solo anywhere in the universe. It's as if the harmonic current of a fallen angel, or alien of ancient times is fabricated in the music. Some 8,000 years before Jesus Christ, teh culture of Ancient Aliens only seemed to be an earthly map, seemingly the music flows from there and beyond, to the far reaches of the universe. So much of these unexplained times had made it's way into FZs music. Göbekli Tepe, Derinkuyu, Turkey, from Inca Roads to the Pyramids of Egyp. There is something about this music that is not of this earth. Not to take anything away from the composer, but poointedly the composers music has no boundary, it's beyond the map of earth.

For anyone that was fortunate to pick up the One Size Fits All Album cover 40 years ago, that album cover was an introduction to Inca Roads and Sofa#1 & Sofa #2. Not to say that these concepts had not been in any prior material but the album cover and these compsotions really had the listener thinking that one should add a Chariots Of The Gods phylosophy to your book of Genesis.

While the early Mothers period material does represent a noteworthy part in the composers canon, I do enjoy having some of that in the setlist. For my ears ZPZ has always given a remarkable performance with each adn every period of FZs music, so I take heart in hearing that because Frank had not gone back to much of these arrangements when I was seeing him live in the 70s and 80s. It all fits in very nicely. In the 400 FZ arrangements ZPZ has toured I have enjoyed it all. Well ballanced.

But in speaking of ancient times, I am very excited about the so called Ancient Allien portions of the program. Can't wait to see the shows. Spring break is next week. I just may have to add anohter show and take the whole family again.
