The first time I saw FZ & the Mothers was at the 1969 Boston Globe Jazz Festival, in early (Jan. or Feb.?) 1969. Not only was it a stellar Mothers performance, but they got (Rashaan) Roland Kirk to sit in with the horn section on a few numbers. I was wondering if there is any documentation of this performance in existence - film, recording, reviews, memorabilia… ?

Since I don't yet have full privs on this board, I can's SEARCH for such info here.

Were you there that night in 1969? It was nifty, keen, and bitchin' I tell ya.

That is awesome, and I've heard of (and I think seen pictures) of this show.

Unfortunately, I know of no recording of this night.

Some photos exist, no film or recording circulates. Gary Burton also played in this show, and wrote a paragraph about it in his autobiography published last year.
