I agree. And any unreleased studio stuff with Sugarcane as well.

Joe said there's lots of stuff in the vault that Don played on . . .

The Sugarcane Harris stuff would be GREAT - each released track that he is on really smokes.

The 'lost' Beefheart collaborations.
It's my fear that the ones not released may have been victim to the police (Studio Z raid). I sure hope not....but after all this time, and still no
"Slippin' And Slidin'" ??

I can't believe I missed the Ritz shows.
I used to go see a lot of bands there around that same time but I had no idea that Frank was even booked.
First time I heard about it was when I saw a bootleg of the show in a record shop. boo hoo.

The Program included:

- piece no. 2 of visual music for jazz ensemble and 16 mm projector (1957)
- piano pieces from 'opus 5'
- collage one, for string instruments
- two fragments of prepared tape for 'opus 5'
- 'opus 5' for piano, tape recorder and multiple orchestra (full blown)
discussion with the audience

Do you think they have it in the vault?

One would think.
I mean, if I have it, why wouldn't they?

i was just saying the other day how the You Can't Do That On Stages are some of my favorite zappa albums. I thanked Frank for the foresight to record everything, for supplying me with these precious artifacts 35 years later. in 2008 Frank, your music is still THE BEST.

everything in the vault is interesting to me. 2007 was a great year for new vault releases. i cant wait for more of it!

Frank Zappa performed once at The Ritz on November 17th 1981.

Halloween 1982 there were two public viewings of The Dub Room Special where Frank was in attendance for both.

The Club "The RITZ" at some point after relocated to the old Studio 54 location where all the Zappa's Universe shows were.

While I had been in attendance for all Zappa related Ritz shows in NYC as stated above the only formal tour Zappa band show was the one November 17, 1981 show that Al Dimeola was a guest at.

You missed one show and to the best of my knowledge Frank may very well have recorded this show in multiple as in the audio and visual formats.

I'm sure you are right about that!

Man, what a shame it would be to not hear all that great stuff?
They should couple whatever they have in the vault with
7-Mar 1970, Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA (all cleaned up of course) and release a nice two cd set.

Apparently the label GOTTDISC released a remastered 2cd set
in 2004 with KING KONG and ELECTRIC CONNECTION by Ponty.
I suppose if there were outtakes they would have been included...

But maybe like all artists, record labels never give the fans what they really want.

I would personally help finance a project like the 1963 saint mary's concert or the roxy dvd. I'm not made of money, but I would put up something like $200 dollars to help out. If others would/could follow suit, maybe we could speed up the release of some projects that are waiting for financing. In exchange for financing, I would be content with acknowledgment in the release (e.g. "this release was made possible with financial assistance from the following people....")

Or, I could throw 200 dollars at Jesus or alcohol....

Didn't you people know there actually is nothing left at all in the Vault ???

Mike transferred everything in there onto his I-Pod, which he never lets out of his sight
