That sounds like an interesting festival. If France was a little closer to me I might have been in.

After much deliberation, I've decided to attend if there is a show near enough.

How about a re-creation of the guy selling t-shirts at the start of the '76 Detroit concert ("That pisses me off!"), holographic scalpers in the parking lot.

The "The Is Spinal Tap" Stonehenge possibilities are there.

"So, remind me again,Did you want the hologram to be 6 inches small, 6 ft tall or 60 ft tall? Whoopsie! Sorry 'bout that..."

I know I'm replying to an old post but I'm kinda new here, don't post often and am
in the process of reading up on old biz :)

I was at the Detroit show and recall it vividly as it was my first live FZ show.

I hope AZ doesn't charge too much. I'm thinking that it will cost more than a DZ show, though.

“My father and I actively discussed 3D and ‘holography’ and it was a concept he actively engaged in. He actually devoted half a chapter of his The Real Frank Zappa Book to this subject. This is a love letter and a journey celebrating the genius artistry of Frank Zappa. On a personal note, I feel like I am finishing something my father started years ago. And let’s not forget, Frank himself will be rocking his fans, alongside his bandmates like nobody’s business.”

So, dibs and drabs or is this it? I can't imagine it would be the latter...

There are no west coast dates so I imagine there are more to come, depending on how well it does...KU and I have a tentative road trip to see this show in LA and meet up with coevad, we suspect the special guest list will be good there... :D

Somewhat torn about this, but I am going to go to opening night 4/19. Capitol Theatre is close by. Will report back.

Anyone got a ticket link for Rochester? As of today 2/11, it shows something else booked at Kodak Hall that day.

I hope it's not at that venue. Beautiful auditorium, but horrible acoustics for a rock show. ZPZ in 2012, and King Crimson in '17 were not that good sounding.

Hmmm... there's an Amsterdam date...

Meh... €62 minimum for a place that's not a concert hall... I smell a ZPZ 2005 scenario...

Got a seat just left of soundboard, middle of floor for Rochester. Damn, ticketmaster sucks. Been a long time since I ordered online to pick a seat. $20 in fees for a physical ticket that's $56. Fuckers.
Keneally's recent comments sold it for me. If it was Vai instead of MK, I'd probably pass, or just settle for a cheap seat closer to show date.

This tour is selling as well as I said it would back on page 1 of this thread. Demand will basically be the same as it was on FZ's final tours in the '80s / ZPZ's first year in 2006, by showtime. In fact, London is almost sold out, even though it's only been on sale for less than a month. A 2nd show is possible but based on the routing of the UK/European leg, it looks as though there's no room for it. They might wait until later in the year to meet demand in that market.

Anyway, what the above essentially means is this: expect more dates announced shortly...

Scored four great seats for the April 26th show in Boston!

I just checked the seating chart a few minutes ago and it looks like about half the seats are still available.

Great GOOGLY MOOGLY! I've lost my mind. I am going to the Wilkes Barre , PA show. It's about $75 for a ticket.....and I don't have anything else planned,....and I guess I have to see this thing and judge if it's a sick failure, or some FOOKIN genius idea? I already feel a bit stupid....and confused, and more than that just INTERESTED in the whole thing. If the sidemen are good at least they will hear my applause. But , in the beginning , I was one of the ones saying this IS crazy. I guess ,"In the name of FRANK ZAPPA ….this HAD better be good" is what I want to say! SOOO....any other fools "biting" at this futuristic delirium of a concert? It seems after a few days about one third of this venue is sold out.

I just hope this is a good and fitting way for us to hear a tribute to Frank. I've seen Project/Object , and the Grandmothers twice each …..each with one great night, and one bad (off?) night. So....how will the "holy-gram" hold-up? I am going forth into the night to see and judge..... "My potato's been bakin' in de sun too long!" :smoke:
