Watch this, I think they speak to each member of the band.

I think Dweezil was right when he recently stated on his website that this current line-up is the best he's ever had!

Now on to last night...

Arriving only minutes before they hit the stage and weaving my way up to within the first few rows, I positioned myself for a night that I knew was going to be memorable. Cian fucking killed it on Fifty-Fifty, to the point where I almost didn't care about watching the rest of the band during this song! Drowning Witch was the absolute pinnacle for me and couldn't have been more perfectly executed! I've always wondered if they were ever going to tackle this one. Sleep Napkins was a quaint electric version of the song. Scheila's Valley Girl rap was a very comical moment and her sax solo in King Kong brought the house down! Keep It Greasy was an absolute monster, especially the instrumental/solo sections! Adam's falsetto vocals on Oh, In The Sky - were so amazing, that they literally had everyone ROTF so hard, that I was literally in tears...and Dweezil couldn't keep it together either, despite hearing it dozens of times this year. Dweezil pointed out that several of these tunes were some of the earliest known versions, and also that they were either never played by FZ or by ZPZ before this year. So it made for quite a unique setlist. These are some of the best musicians on earth! What an absolutely amazing show!

The Commodore Ballroom (1,000), which was probably 85% full, seems to be the new permanent Vancouver home for Dweezil and Co., as they performed there the past 5 times (out of 9 Vancouver stops since 2006) through town. Not only does the nearly 90 year old building suit their current draw well, but it's also just an excellent venue...

Something I noticed during the extended guitar solos and I am no musician by any means was the drums and bass at times were so in-sync with the guitar that they were getting a fourth harmonic sound that I don't think I ever heard in the hundreds of Franks solos...did anyone else notice this and can someone with musical skills elaborate on what was going on there?

And so ends another tour.

The mythical fourth harmonic sound can only be achieved during the two weeks prior to the Winter Solstice at specially ordained venues in the realm of the Knights Templar. Even so, conditions must be optimal rendering this phenomenon extremely rare. The last documented occurrence was during a Cowsills performance at the Elk’s Lodge in Helena, Montana in 1968. The Dweezil Zappa performance on December 8, 2018 in Monterey, CA is currently under investigation.

I caught the tour Nov.14 in MI. Very small and intimate venue. I've not seen ZPZ since '08 and I was so impressed. Heck, 3 chords into Andy and I had tears rolling down my face it was so incredibly beautiful.

...the moon was dim, the band was tight...

Tighter than tight, I was simply blown away.

Cian did an astonishing job on 50/50. For such a small gal she is a power house.

Absolutely Free had me in tears again.

I'm not usually so emotional esp. at concerts but this one was particularly powerful
for personal reasons.

After the show I had the opportunity to shake hands with Cian and Ryan and express
my gratitude. They were both very warm and gracious.

I like your review, opal.
The Hollywood show was number #21 for me. Show #20(same venue, 2017) had Ike Willis(guest vocalist for half the set) and Vinnie Colaiuta(sat in on Ryan's kit for Keep It Greasy) on stage and this tour was still better that the last!

I think song selection is a big part of it.
