Former US president Barack Obama visits New Zealand
Last updated 15:00, March 22 2018

What you need to know about former US President Barack Obama's visit to New Zealand:

* Obama arrived at Auckland Airport by private jet from Singapore late Tuesday night.

* He then travelled by helicopter to Kauri Cliffs luxury lodge in Northland on Wednesday morning.

* He was joined by former prime minister John Key. The pair played golf at Kauri Cliffs' private course before Obama stayed at luxury lodge The landing.

(Ghost note: coincidentally former prime minister John Key is now on the board of Air New Zealand who are partially funding Bazza's trip to NZ)

* It's understood Obama dined on Wednesday night with 20 guests including Air New Zealand chief executive Chris Luxon at the Purerua Peninsula resort.

* The pair golfed again on Thursday morning at Tara Iti in Mangawhai.

* He will speak to 900 invited guests at a function on Thursday.

* The only public engagement will be a pōwhiri at Government house.

(Ghost note: the pōwhiri is a traditional Māori challenge/welcome, Bazza got the "full" ceremony)

* He's expected to meet privately with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and is expected to raise the Kermadec ocean sanctuary.

* The visit has been arranged by the NZ-US Council.

*He will be moving on to Sydney on Friday, and then on to Japan.

French Gendarme dies of his wounds. He took the place of a woman hostage and received multiple gun shots from the islamist Fuck. Three other innocents were massacred by the scumbag.

Had a mail from Tumblr about the fake accounts. Apparently I either liked or reblogged posts by them, I can't for the life of me recall what they were about. I only use Tumblr for my Dir En Grey-fix.

Majority of $1.3 Trillion US Omnibus Spending Bill Goes to Military

Image

Jason Ditz/ Posted on March 23, 2018

The last minute signing of the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill in the US is a big windfall for the Pentagon, who will be getting the majority of the money, in the realm of $700 billion. This includes 14 new ships, 28 new helicopters, and 56 of the costly F-35 warplanes. This $700 billion does not include other military-related spending, including the VA...

The primary purpose of US military spending is not to defend the United States, but to continuously transfer as much wealth as possible from the pockets of working taxpayers to the bank accounts of large “defense” contractors.

I'm wondering if you'll ever get around to posting photos of Trump's dead babies? Considering how hyper critical you were of Obama and Clinton on this subject....Giving Trump a free pass?

Under the Trump administration, US airstrikes are killing more civilians

According to research from the nonprofit monitoring group Airwars, the first seven months of the Trump administration have already resulted in more civilian deaths than under the entirety of the Obama administration. Airwars reports that under Obama’s leadership, the fight against IS led to approximately 2,300 to 3,400 civilian deaths. Through the first seven months of the Trump administration, they estimate that coalition air strikes have killed between 2,800 and 4,500 civilians.

Researchers also point to another stunning trend – the “frequent killing of entire families in likely coalition airstrikes.” In May, for example, such actions led to the deaths of at least 57 women and 52 children in Iraq and Syria.

Insect Decimation Upstages Global Warming
by Robert Hunziker

Everybody’s heard about global warming. It is one of the most advertised existential events of all time. Who isn’t aware? However, there’s a new kid on the block. An alarming loss of insects will likely take down humanity before global warming hits maximum velocity.

For the immediate future, the Paris Accord is riding the wrong horse, as global warming is a long-term project compared to the insect catastrophe happening right now! Where else is found 40% to 90% species devastation?

The worldwide loss of insects is simply staggering with some reports of 75% up to 90%, happening much faster than the paleoclimate record rate of the past five major extinction events.

Germany’s insects are disappearing

By Gretchen VogelOct. 18, 2017 , 2:00 PM

In just 3 decades, insect populations in German nature reserves have plummeted by more than 75%, according to a new study. The reasons for the decline aren’t clear, but the pattern is consistent over a swath of western and northern Germany, from the region around Bonn and Cologne to the countryside south of Berlin. For 27 years, members of the Krefeld Entomological Society near Dusseldorf have monitored flying insect populations—everything from parasitic wasps to hoverflies and wild bees—in dozens of nature reserves. In recent years, they noticed a steep decline in their catch, with biomass dropping by some 82% in the summer when insect populations peak. Their attempts to match the decline with changes in weather, landscapes, and plant coverage—in collaboration with scientists in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom—don’t explain the loss, they report today in PLOS ONE. The scientists speculate that intensive agriculture surrounding the nature reserves has played a role, but they don’t have data on factors such as pesticide use in neighboring fields. The decline is likely having wide-ranging effects on plants and other animals, such as insect-eating birds. The researchers say that better monitoring of these crucial, but overlooked, members of ecosystems is urgently needed.

That's what you get when you throw your vote away. You let Monsanto, the Johnson Company, BASF, Dupont and the fossil fuel industry win. You throw your vote away and help people like Trump win, you throw the future away.

I've had 2 bomb threats at my secondary school, this was before 9/11. The first time we were all sent home. The second time the school staff was more thinking along the lines of "student prank" and let us wait on the sport fields until they'd searched the school.

Go to Google Maps to play Where's Waldo?

There's a bit of a bug: if you don't go to the Secret Level directly after finding Waldo in Hollywood, you can't go there anymore.
