Only talking in general terms here, but I’ve been listening to a lot of the band Focus recently by way of their recent bargain box set “Hocus Pocus Box”. I only knew them from the song Hocus Pocus (which I think is awesome) but I can say that their whole catalog is pretty spiffy. While there is nothing else in their catalog that remotely resembles Hocus Pocus, everything is pretty cool. Sometimes proggy, fusiony, jammy, etc. Flute on some proggy numbers recalls Jethro Tull, some solos reminded me of Santana, some pre-shred era shredding, some numbers could even be called easy listening (in a good way). Has anybody else spent much time listening to these guys?

Sure.A fine band. I've got a July 20th 1972 London concert. It was broadcast January 17th 1973 as a "BBC in Concert" show.

Hey! I have this and something else. I listened to it a couple times and liked it too. But shelved it as there was a lot of things coming in at the time. I'll go back to it again. Thanks man!

Back in 2006 or so, we were on the old forum and there was a thread named something like "What are you listening to Phase V.V," (Phase 5.5).

When we migrated to this forum in April 2006, the V.V thread came with us. It was a long thread which screwed up it's migration, so no one could add more posts to it. (Some also lost accounts, it's when I changed from Imisshimbad, to wife's nickname for me, baddy).

We needed a new music thread that could accept new posts, so I started this one.

Software engineers use the following format in revision naming:
MajorVersion.MinorRevision.MinorUpdate

Since software was causing so many problems at that time when this PHP forum started, I added a minor revision to the new thread's name, and following it's roman numeral convention I used I instead of 1....Phase V.V became Phase V.V.I.

I don't know why the old thread used "Phase," it was there before I got here in 2003, but I suspect it had something to do with Phase One of Lumpy Gravy on the Money album cover...that's a guess.
