Holy fuck. I've been away for like 2 hours and all of a sudden there are 5 pages of extra reading stuff.

Well: to conclude: everyone knows smoking is bad, also for your neighbours. people continue to do it because it just is fun sometimes. i can really enjoy a good cigarette. the first one is bad, sure - but persistence is the key - smoking can be fun! I'm intending to quit someday, because I know it is unhealthy. but today, I enjoy my daily dose. simple as that.

IT JUST TODESTRIEB, RELAX LADS. TODESTRIEB.
I think Steve Martin put it best:

People say to me, "Mind if I smoke??",

I say, "Why no, mind if I fart?"

there's another good one in the 'first' porn movie ever made - Deep Troath

It starts with a guy who is licking the *private* parts from a women while she is sitting on a washing machine. After a while, she grabs his hair, pulling him away from his affairs for a moment and asks:
'Do you mind of I smoke while you're eating?'
The guy mumbles 'no', continues the job and the women lights a fag.

Hilarious scene.
The irony is, nowadays people get sick on planes far more often than they used to. Since they pump less air through the plane, viruses have a tendency to just circulate throughout the plane. By the end of a coast-to-coast flight, you're basically sitting in a soup of other people's illnesses.
That's very interesting to see explained. I actually had it happen to me once.

The one time in my life that a company paid to fly me in for an interview, I was feeling great until I took a stuffy plane ride. I arrived feeling like shit, went straight to bed as soon as I could, and it only got worse from there. The interview was the next morning and I was totally dehydrated and had no sleep from being violently and relentlessly sick all night. I was sure I caught something on that stagnant plane. It took 3 days for the illness to run its course. I called my doc from their local *SPAM* and he said it was a virus and there was nothing he could call in, I had to just ride it out as best as I could. Brutal.
I have a little problem with my immune system: and because of it I have a harder time shaking off colds.
My doctor prescribed an anti-viral; this stuff called Amantadine. So now, whenever I'm traveling or suspect I'll be in an enclosed space with a bunch of sick people, I pop one. The only time I get sick is when I forget to take it.

They should sell this shit at airports....
(more irony: the problem with my immune system is that it's too strong and it tends to attack my nervous system. The condition is called multiple sclerosis. I take a drug called interferon - the same stuff they give to prevent rejection of transplanted organs - which stops the attacks on my nervous system but also makes me more vulnerable to colds).
Amantadine? Sounds like good stuff! I'm gonna ask my doc about it. I have serious bronchitis and asthma. Whenever I get a virus it goes right to my lungs. Several times I have ended up in the hospital. That would be an answer to prayer. When you are stuck in an office all day you are prey to this constantly. Kids, I'm a ex smoker. Live and learn. Much as I love FZ, that is one thing I cannot emulate or live with.

Sorry about the ms, mental. I have a sister in law with it. Haven't talked to her in quite a while, but I know what's up with that!

I was prescribed a course of interferon for Hep C, but it didn't work with me. It has a low success rate with liver disease, but you are lucky if it is a help to you. Good luck with it.

I hate that part of playing out, too. It's also a bit disturbing how playing in smokey clubs permanently darkens the color of a guitar.
