So I watched a good portion of the Grammy's tonight, for some unknown reason... .and you know what?   It was actually a pretty good show, with a lot of music.   And wanna know what the big shocker was???? You guys won't even believe this, but Mariah Carey actually gave the most amazing performance, now get this, with a diamond studded mic, and bling so huge and heavy I could hardly believe she was able to flap her arms like that!!!  But get this, she does a song about god, jesus, the whole deal with a gospel choir, and get this, it was actually an amazing and moving musical moment.  Go figure!

I just saw that U2 won best album, and they were the most bland and boring thing I saw the whole night, (not that I saw everything,) but blah.... frank was right, they are fake.

there was a guest singer?   I didn't watch most of it, I got bored before the chorus even hit!!!   I told a friend the name of their cd was "how to dismantle an A Bomb, his immediate response was, "give politicians blow jobs behind closed doors!"

I watched it and almost threw up.<br><br>As far as I got was that performance by Kanye West. (Which I actually enjoyed).<br><br>The least was horrendously stupid.<br><br>I was very sad when I witnessed the passing of Robert Moog and Clarence Gatemouth Brown.<br><br>And I got over excited when I noticed Boulez had won something.

Sly did nothing but provide a good hearty laugh when he walked out.  Now there's a man who fried his brain on Cocaine.  What a waste of talent Sly was, especially hearing Everday People was actually a good cover, but the whole do one verse and one chorus of each hit medley concept offends me.   <br>Now let's just clarify....  I despise awards shows as much as the next guy, but for some strange cosmic reason I watched this year, and actually enjoyed the experience, that's all I'm saying.   Kanye's performance was very entertaining, (I actually really like Gold Digger)  But I don't know why we had to pretend what we were hearing was actually coming from the stage, maybe it was, but it didn't really sound like it.    <br>Did you hear Mariah's performance though?   Is it just me or was that actually an amazing musical moment?

Man, he looks horrible.. <br><br>I love Sly & the Family Stone's records from the 60s and 70s, but perhaps he shouldn't have bothered with this sorry comeback. <br><br>"I'm gonna add some bottom, so that the dancers just won't hide." ah.. pom.. pom.. pom..

Absolutely agreed, the award portion of the show is completely bogus, no question.   But there actually was some good music.  Herbie Hancock taking his pinao part on a pretty poppy jazz tune WAY OUT!  that was great.
