Hey mungo, how can you like John Howard? Didn't you think he looked just a little ungracious when handing out the medals to the english players. He never smiled once, scowled in fact, and almost shoved the cup at Martin Johnson. Very rude and not unnoticed by most of us aussies, who were quite embarrassed. Talkback radio was alive with the issue all day, so I heard.

didnt notice PM howards attitude bernie though i did think there was something perculiar bout the way sid miller president of the IRB kinda threw the medals round the wallabies necks - it may have been nothin or perhaps its cause sid is a grumpy ulsterman like myself - who knows.
i did see some aussie front pages from sundays papers though - oh boy, them journalists are the pits. people think pommy tabloids are the worst - i think in a tabloid world cup final the odds for a pommy / aussie winner would be VERY evenly spread.

mungo

Things must be pretty grim in pommy land, if you haven't moved on from what was a rare national victory over there. But I can't complain, while your mob are still rejoicing in an orgy of beer and vomit, our blokes are planning our revenge. See you in 2007......... ;D
