Stores in Center-Ville close cause regular folks owning these stores can't compete. They fire their employees. No more jobs. Center-ville becomes a place of bars and grills (there goes the neighborhood). No more commerce openings. People are living out of welfare and social security. And when you have so little money in your pocket to spend, where do you go for your needs ? Right, WAL-MART.
Yeah. And eventually
everybody will work at Walmart, too. The former employees of the local bar and grille will work for The Walmart Bar and Grille, located between the refrigerated foods aisle and the barbeque pits, which are currently on sale.

Where I live was once an industrial area. Now it's retail stores and fast food joints; that's about all there is here anymore. Of course, we have a Walmart. It's going to be torn down soon to build a SuperMegaMosterMotherfucker Walmart. The current Walmart will be leveled to make a bigger parking lot for the Super-Duper Walmart they are going to build on all the surrounding land they bought. Its birth will kill off the remaining grocery stores in the area for sure.

If Union is the way to get rid of this "Poverty Circle",
LET'S DO IT !!!

It doesn't work that way, though. The unions have no power over Walmart. Walmart holds all the cards. It's like a crack junkie telling their dealer "We are not going to deal with you any more! You aren't fair!" The dealer says, "Really? I'm the only dealer you have. You need me more than I need you."

So unions are impotent against Walmart. A boycott could hurt Walmart, but you could NEVER get enough people behind that to make it effective. Shit, you can't even get them out to vote for a President...there's NO WAY anybody can organize them to boycott Walmart.

No doubt, we're doomed. Just go get fitted for your blue vest now, and be sure to put a bunch of shiny pins on it. All that shit they call "pieces of flair" in
Office Space.

Or start your own service oriented business. But not auto. Walmart already has that covered.
