Isn't there a new Vai release of Mike Keneally playing some of Vai's songs on solo piano?  :o

I saw that tour in Las Vegas last year. It was ok. Kind of fun to see Yngwie again after so many years and I'm a pretty big Vai fan. Abasi is also an interesting player. Zakk Wylde bored me to pieces though, just shredding his big, hairy ass off in rock star spread eagle pose with his hand basically in one position the whole time. His centerpiece tune was a plodding, heavy metal version of Whipping Post. No Ozzy stuff.

I've seen the G3 thing a couple of times, and Lil' Stevie his self once, but time has passed and I don't know if I've got the patience/attention span for that form of live performance anymore.....Having said that however if they were passing through the old hometown it'd be hard to resist......

I'm not giving you shit. It's just...

Steve Vai?

I like how it's always about "introducing the younger generations to FZ's music". No one ever mentions anything about "trying to make a buck".

Does Nikki Sixx ever leave home without putting on his rocker costume?

He's famous for being the drummer from one of the shittiest bands in the history of the world. I guess the costume distracts people from that fact.

Or was I supposed to forget just how bad Motley Crue has always sucked and start lumping Nikki Sixx in with actual musicians who gave their all to contribute something real to the world?

Not claiming to be a Motley Crue expert but I think Mr. Sixx is the bass man for the band. I think you were thinking of Tommy Lee who also likes to sport rock and roll attire and is heavily tattoed as well.

^ Right. Thank you. Bass.

I wish Maps would at least explain to me why he thinks we should be paying attention to Steve Vai and Nikki Sixx.

I already know Vai can play scales. And I know that he's willing to make statements like "being on stage with Frank again" in reference to his involvement with a fucking FZ hologram.

Fuck. I see what I did.

That middle line was supposed to be "Nikki Sixx?". I must apologize to Maps and KUIII and all the SV fans because, yeah, my original post is a moronic post to have made on a Steve Vai thread. And I'm an idiot for not noticing my mistake until now. Sorry Maps. I didn't mean to be quite such a dick. Steve Vai is a good guy. And that's a lot more important than being a good guitar player. Oh, and if you're a Nikki Sixx fan I am twice as sorry.
