I'm as confined as I want to be from now on.
going to the grocery store and the liquor store a couple of times a week. that's pretty much it.
not living a life in luxury or anything, but mrs. gravy and I are doing fine.
just spending time together with our old cat. seeing the granddaughters once in a while.
reading, listening to music, watching movies, eating good and just relaxing. 8)

Yes, I'm late but, Congratulations!

^^^^^ good stuff Urs' ^^^^^

I don't know how you folks are dealing with your various yo yoing lockdown situations,
and the frightening death tolls and infection levels.....

Our little 35 day nationwide lockdown ran from 24th of March through to 27th of April,
other than a couple of localized spikes since then, that led to short localized lockdowns
which were traced and isolated early, the average kiwi's life is almost back to normal
albeit with cleaner hands.....Our 2020 flu season was the lowest since flu seasons began.....

As we speak, nobodies allowed in or out of the country without undergoing a mandatory
government testing and the 14 day managed quarantine, which is where our new Covid-19 cases
are being caught. Generally the people feel safe, despite certain members of the media hysterically
leaping onto every sneeze and demanding instant resignations of government officials.....

There's been a great deal of talk amongst local governments about travel bubbles between NZ
and parts of Australia and some of the pacific Islands. While the logistics of safely kick starting
the tourism triangle were looked into, Covid-19 either arrived or returned to some of these
proposed destinations, largely terminating the tourism triangle.....

Here are our Covid-19 figures according to the man (by man I mean Jacinda Ardern).....

Total Cases: 2096 + 4

Confirmed Cases: 1740 + 4

Probable Cases: 356

Active Cases: 56 - 1

Deaths: 25

Recovered: 2015 + 5

Deep respect brothers and sisters.....Hang in there, science will beat Covid-19.....

I've taken to only shop at Target, less men and teens, with noses typically sticking out of the mask. I go to the grocery store only early, like 7, to get apples and veggies. Sometimes bred, Target bread moves slowly, staler. If there is only old bread, I get bagels.

There are some lockdown skills I've acquired - forklift driving, Excel... but now I'm working on managing my arachnophobia.

And I found Lucas the Spider.

well, after a couple of months in retirement, I got a bit restless. a bit of cabin fever, I guess.
I've read all the books we have, watched movies and been taking care of the house. but, I need to get out a bit more.

I took on a part time job. 25 hours a week. gives me something to do, and a bit of extra pocket money.
working three days a week. it's ok. and, I'll still keep my early retirement check.

Everybody in lockdown in Germany - apart from teachers i.e. me. Government reacted in a moderately competent fashion (the least one could expect, in other words). Interestingly enough, the more conservative federal states have been more radical (and responsible) in their reaction to this pandemic here imo, though I'm sure fellow German Zappaphiles might disagree.

Got some groceries, apples and veggies. People are wearing masks but now have become more chatty. Like the lady selecting apples and the guy filling the same bin.

I had to stand back and let that air clear and grab my apples with a long arm from the corner.
