I received a ticket to see David Byrne in March! :)

David Byrne's 1st solo tour since 2009, supposedly his biggest production since Stop Making Sense.

“I had an idea that everyone in the band might be mobile… so there would be no risers, drum platform or any of that stuff,” he explained. “With everyone mobile, I realized the stage could be completely clear. If we could have the monitors in our ears, the amps off-stage and the lights up high, then we had the possibility of a completely empty space.”

In discussing the dynamics of the stage setup, Byrne said he would be using lightweight chains to hide the non-performers and gear around the periphery of the stage. “Not only does it take color, one can cast shadows on the chain,” he added.

Byrne will play a preliminary run of East Coast dates starting in March, which Byrne intends to use to road test the production in anticipation of a larger run of shows and festival appearances later in the year.

A Steve Hackett ticket for February. Plus some cash to buy a cd or dvd at the merch booth.

I rewarded myself with 2 Zappa vinyl albums (Them or Us and The Man from Utopia). They are framed and hanging on my wall as collectible art. I will never play them since I don't have a turntable anymore. I had bought both of these new in 1984 and they were stolen shortly thereafter. I couldn't afford brand new copies so I got near-mint instead. They seem to be in great shape, so I'm happy. I'm going to go on a shopping spree this year since I really want to have a complete collection of Zappa vinyl someday.

I got an amazon coupon. I was so enamored with Manzarek's "Love Her Madly," that I got these two, (Doors cofounder, keyboards).

Heard only the first one so far. I like it but still like "Love Her Madly" much better, (it's gonna be tuff beat that one).

(Joe Walsh and Flo & Eddie are on this one).
