Written & Produced by Craig Murphy
http://www.solipsism-solipsism.co.uk

Recorded at Solar Culture Studio in Glasgow, Scotland 2011-2015.

I'd like to thank Lee Anthony Norris, Al from Black Particle and Dave from Carpe Sonum for helping me out with this release.

Solipsism is Craig Murphy, an experimental musician and recording artist from Glasgow in Scotland. In conjunction with his solo material as Solipsism, he also works with Lee Norris (Norken/Metamatics/Nacht Plank) as Ashtoreth’s Gate and Solipsism & Nacht Plank and he has previously worked with U.K top 40 artist, singer and lyricist Neil Carlill (Delicatessen/Lodger/Harvey Mapcase) as Shoosh. Murphy founded the Glasgow imprint Herb Recordings in 2006 and ran it until 2013; he now runs Ambidextrous Records. His eclectic style and unorthodox methods has seen Murphy release on a variety of labels over the years in several genres and his music has been featured on major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, XFM London and his compositions are also regularly featured on major TV shows in the U.K.

CD will be forthcoming in 2017. At Carpe Sonum, our policy is, and has always been, that if you purchase a digital download and later want the CD (either because it wasn't available at the time you purchased the download or because you changed your mind), you only have to pay the difference between the download price and the CD price, i.e., $6.50 + shipping.

OUT NOW ON CD

Solipsism, aka Craig Murphy, has slowly but surely erected on the grand ‘ol ambient/electronica corner a nice little bit of sonic real estate for himself. He’s already graced the presence of labels such as txt and Databloem, collaborating with the former’s head honcho Lee Norris as Ashtoreth’s Gate and with Norris’s Nacht Plank project, and kept busy since 2006 gracing all manners of digital imprints such as Herb Recordings and Ambidextrous. On Kismet, his debut for Carpe Sonum, Murphy lets the bells ring out and flags fly; well, more like reverberate, as the album trucks in an ever-cascading audiofall of beautiful, expressionist shimmers. Murphy’s touch is exquisite, his cycling watercolors simultaneously a balm on the soul and a hair-raising trek across lonely, thin-air vistas. Rarely does ‘ambient’ music challenge the senses as well as tickle them. In that sense, Murphy manages, despite his chosen moniker, to forge stylistic connections with similarly-styled purveyors like the late Oophoi, and, more tellingly, David Parsons, whose taste for grandeur and epic scope Solipsism virtually revels in. Maximum warp music, designed for peak experience.

A total of 4 albums, including the Bastard you recommended. No worries, I knew it wouldn't ship until all albums were available.

OK man I see. The 4th release is on hold until the others sell out (lovely distributors).

PM me your address and I'll send you copies of all three gratis and see if you can cancel your order, if not sell them on discogs

I've never actually told you this before but I owe you a huge favour for asking me to contribute music to the forum CD. It was utter shit my entry, but you used it and it gave me the confidence to keep at it. Without that forum CD, I would have no vinyl or CD releases today.

So thanks man.
