Ohh, hahaha, that's funny. I guess there's a few people you can fool into thinking that electronica uh "music" is something to listen to. People like to watch cars wreck too.

You mean electronica like this?

Yeah, just like that. Even though it's on an actual instrument, it just goes on and on. Plink, plunk.

I thought it was bleep bloop, but there you go. I write music for a primetime TV show now in the U.K called Hollyoaks, I do the background music, so that's the sort of incidental stuff they want me to do. It might not be to your taste, but it earns me £30 a minute :smoke:

No man, we never get to meet them, it's the people who publish my music that sends it to the shows, I don't even know which shows my music is used and which hasn't been until three months after the broadcast date as you get paid quarterly. I've never watched the show, it's for metrosexual teenagers and is shit. But I have no morals as far as that goes, if they want to pay me, i'm happy to send it.

That's pretty cool TCS. Personally I got no time for it but my kids watch it all the fucking time.
And I have to sit and watch it with them occasionally to qualify as a good parent.
I'll listen out for it.

You mean electronica like this?

https://soundcloud.com/solipsism/b-movie-heroes

Sounds good (and has a specific purpose actually)!

Perhaps not so Page related, but if this is electronica, it beats watching cars crash into each other. And also, I am sad to say, some of Zappa's synclavier stuff that never matured beyond "let's see how many n-tuplets of belches we can cram into a bar, while having sampled instruments playing (n+m)-tuplets of random notes in unison" (where n and m are both very large numbers).

On topic: I think Page is decent, but I agree with all here on the studio/live difference. Some of the Zeppelin stuff has solid riffs recorded greatly, and arranged greatly. But live, only the early stuff I have seen is good as its loose "hippie" vibe suits the songs well. I still think their performance in 69 (68?) on Danish Television is outstanding. Maybe because I saw it "live" and it was rather influential on me in terms of "music matters". And I admit gladly that I fell for the violin bow trick. After Spinal Tap, I cannot take that part too serious anymore :-). The later shows mid 70s and onwards become more and more Spinal Tapish, and thus unbearable. Stairway to Heaven is great, but a monument to the worst things of heavy rock and prog rock to come after.

In one of the biggest music stores in Copenhagen, it is against store policy to play Stairway to Heaven when trying out guitars: A la "Wayne's World":

Ya all are so patient about music and what is good and what isn't...here is my take... :smoke:

Zep is part of the sound track of my life (although I always considered them overrated), it was playing in the background of my youth, I personally preferred Budgie within that genre, but Zep has some tunes I like and still listen to from time to time.

Humble Pie was a favorite of mine and I like Peter Frampton’s solo work, but he was so popular with the Live album it made me puke. I did get to see him with Journey around 2002 and he actually sounded like he made peace with himself and the show was excellent.

I like Electronic music from the 80's to now, and I still like to stay on the cutting edge by listening to Alternative Rock and those young bands are producing some great music.

Well that's all I got to say about that...

i really need to work on my thread title construction/presentation.
i don't believe in "good" or "bad".
it's all about personal experience via sounds.

i guess i was in a sour state of mind upon creating this thread title.

my knowledge with budgie begins and ends at knowing their name.
what do you recommend?

i like smokin' and rockin' the fillmore.

Metelica's pretty good but they'll never be as good as the Bettles.
