Don't get me started on Abbot. The current Australian government is by far the worst we've ever had. They're just a bunch of arsehole clowns.

Even if what you say is true, which it isn't, you are as always justifying murder. Resisting an angry cop may be foolish, but its clearly not a warranted instant death sentence. No one in the world eccept you would look at that video and think that car was gonna run him down. What really happened was the cop shot the poor guy in the head and THEN the car rolled forward when the guy slumped over.

Your excusing these dirty cops repeatedly shows how big of a heartless fool you really are. Your the kind of idiot who want learn unless it happens to you.

This was clearly an over reaction from a ' campus ' cop who used his gun as a dick.

This ' police officer ' should have never been off campus and pulling this guy over for a MINOR infraction of having no front license plate but instead , pulling this guy over for ' driving while black ' was police ineptitude at it's worst.

This is the most racist city I have ever been in .

When you are a member of the tribe, it doesn't happen "...to you."

Kinky too, mostly failed wannabe real cops governed by retired Military wannabes or civilians. They do dumb stuff all the time. lack of training, empathy, brains and a hell of a lot of overkill for campus security. Thats why you have this happening,

It always overkill from the campus cops if you say no, even in legal protest. Off campus they use guns first.
The UCPD should stay on Campus unless asked to aid.

July 12, 1922

In Chicago, Illinois, a woman is being arrested for defying a Chicago edict banning "abbreviated bathing suits" on beaches.

In 1919, 20 special deputies called "Sheriffettes" were sworn in to monitor the swimwear of the bathers at Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York. This was the latest salvo in an ongoing battle between women and beach authorities — and not just there.

That same year, a policeman was reprimanded by a judge for arresting a woman who wore a swimsuit under a skirt and sweater. She was walking along Ocean Parkway with her husband and was told to go home and change into complete street attire. The policeman allegedly looked under her skirt to check what she was wearing. The judge told him he had no business to do so and dismissed the charge.

In 1921, a bather in Atlantic City, New Jersey was arrested for wearing her stockings rolled below her knees and refusing to pull them up. She retaliated during her arrest by punching the officer in the eye.

A 1921 Hawaiian law was enacted that no one over 14 years of age could appear in a swimsuit unless "covered suitably by an outer garment reaching at least to the knees." Women began to wear towels around their waists or wrap raincoats around themselves.

Image

It was the climax to a long debate about clothing modesty, which mostly targeted women.

In the late 19th century, swimming became less about health and more about pleasure. At that point, the genders divided; men swam with men, women with women, but rarely together.

Into the early 1900s, women's swimming costumes were cumbersome, with high necks, long sleeves, skirts and pants. Often they were made of wool.

But as the century hit its stride, necklines lowered and arms were uncovered. In response, seaside resorts published codes regulating the appearance of swimming costumes, especially the length of the skirts, in the interest of preserving modesty.

The one-piece swimming suit, brought to the public attention by swimmer, vaudeville and film star Annette Kellerman, was legally banned in parts of the U.S. In 1908 Kellerman was arrested for indecent exposure at Revere Beach, Boston, Massachusetts.

But by the early 1930s, the swimwear storm seemed to have blown itself out. That decade saw a rise in the emphasis on the practical value of personal health and exercise, and women could finally shake off the clumsy swimwear of the past for something more practical.

Yet, as Alfred Eisenstadt's 1941 image of a boardwalk sign suggests (above), the scourge of "improper attire" had not entirely gone away.

He was shot several times to prevent him from shooting himself. Now he's dead. Possible coverup.

Delaware police shoot man in wheelchair

(CNN) Police officers, their guns raised, approach the man in the wheelchair and yell out loudly and repeatedly: "Drop the gun" and "hands up."

His hands don't rise. Shots are fired. And the man keels over out of his wheelchair and onto the ground.

The police chief in Wilmington, Delaware, defended his officers Thursday. The handicapped man, Jeremy McDole, was armed with a .38-caliber gun -- the same one he'd apparently used on himself earlier, Chief Bobby Cummings said. And he never complied with the officers' requests.

Instead, "when Mr. McDole began to remove the weapon from his waist, the officers engaged him," Cummings said. In other words, the officers opened fire because they were concerned McDole might fire his weapon at them.

But the man's mother saw it differently.

Phyllis McDole alluded to a video -- which Cummings acknowledged but said he hasn't authenticated -- which she said shows that her son "didn't pull a weapon. He had his hands in his lap."

In the footage, a witness can be heard saying "put your hands up" and "he's reaching again." But it's not obvious what exactly the man was doing with his hands just before the shots rang out.

Phyllis McDole -- who spoke at the same news conference as Cummings, despite their obvious differences of opinion -- doesn't understand why her son died. He was 28-years-old and paralyzed from the waist down, she points out.

The mother said, "This is unjust."

The call came in at about 3 p.m. Wednesday that there was a man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound who was still armed, Cummings explained.

A number of officers arrived and approached McDole. Their guns were pointed toward his stationary wheelchair as they circled, shouting their demands that he let go of the weapon. It wasn't evident from the video if the gun was ever in his hands as police approached.

This took place before a few moments of relative silence.

That's when, the Wilmington police chief said, McDole "began to remove the weapon from his waist, the officers engaged him and -- as a result of the injuries Mr. McDole sustained -- he lost his life."

Hours after the shooting, the loss of life seemed about the only thing that police and McDole's mother agreed on.

Mayor Dennis Williams promised at Thursday's news conference that the family "will be notified step-by-step throughout the investigation.

And he concurred with Phyllis McDole in at least one respect: "We want answers."

Arrest video fallout: Spring Valley High Officer Ben Fields fired

Image

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1xrAQZ4DDs

(CNN) The South Carolina deputy who slammed a disruptive student on the floor and tossed her several feet has been fired.

Other students in the classroom at Spring Valley High School caught the incident on video.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott suspended Deputy Ben Fields without pay, and then fired him Wednesday.

Fields violated police regulations when he threw the girl, the sheriff said.

Fields was the Spring Valley High School resource officer whose actions Monday were recorded by students and ignited a firestorm on social media. Among the criticisms: his admitted use of "muscling techniques" to get the student out of her chair.

But that's only one part of the story. Federal investigators have gotten involved. Another student arrested from the classroom has spoken out. And the sheriff is criticizing a South Carolina law that he says muddles the role of school resource officers.
