What's your favorite novelty song?

Some of mine -

"Trash Day" by Weird Al
"They're Coming To Take Me Away Haha" Napoleon IV (or whatever number he was)
"Der Fuhrer's Face" and "Cocktails For Two" by Spike Jones
"Wet Dream" by Kip Adotta

Oh, and please don't mention any FZ songs. If you think he did any novelty songs, hey, eat chain.

Ususally Tom Lehrer. I think those qualify. Favorites include "So Long Mom, I'm Off To Drop The Bomb" (i frequently find myself singing or humming this) and "National Brotherhood Week".

Pretty much Anal Cunt's entire discography, apart from the album Morbid Florist.

Watch out for the lynch mob.

I don't think the Lynch Mob did any novelty songs. George Lynch was an okay guitarist, but I don't think of him as funny.

Well if they didn't, they should have. Maybe somethin' like The Lord Loves a Hangin'.

Funny you should mention it, my new novelty track just hit the charts with a bullet. (um...suuure) the vocal track was just a guide, and i fuck up the lyrics a bit, but I figured since this thread popped up right as this rough mix was made, I might as well share.

Oh, Lord loves a hangin'.
That's why He gave us necks.
It tightens up our vocal cords
And loosens up our pecs.

So if you are a horse theif
And guilty to the bone,
Go ahead and blame a friend
And you won't hang alone.

It may be hard to swaller,
But you'll be three feet taller.
It's a dandy way to entertain your friends.

You say you are a villain,
But can't abide by killin';
Go ahead a steal yourself a horse.

Oh, Lord loves a hangin'.
And so do we, by heck;
So get yerself a lasso
And decorate your neck.

Oh, we is awful ignorant
And uglier 'n sin;
So go ahead 'n cut us down
And hang us all again

Isaac

''Dead Skunk' -Loudon Wainwright III: 'Crossin' the highway late last night
He shoulda looked left and he shoulda looked right
He didn't see the station wagon car
The skunk got squashed and there you are!

'You got yer
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
You got yer dead skunk in the middle of the road
Stinkin' to high Heaven!

'Take a whiff on me, that ain't no rose!
Roll up yer window and hold yer nose
You don't have to look and you don't have to see
'Cause you can feel it in your olfactory

'You got yer
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
You got yer dead skunk in the middle of the road
Stinkin' to high Heaven!

'Yeah you got yer dead cat and you got yer dead dog
On a moonlight night you got yer dead toad frog
Got yer dead rabbit and yer dead raccoon
The blood and the guts they're gonna make you swoon!
You got yer
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
You got yer dead skunk in the middle of the road
Stinkin' to high Heaven!

'C'mon stink!

'You got it!
It's dead, it's in the middle
Dead skunk in the middle!
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
Stinkin' to high heaven!
All over the road, technicolor man!
Oh, you got pollution
It's dead, it's in the middle
And it's stinkin' to high, high Heaven'

THE EGGPLANT THAT ATE CHICAGO
(Norman Greenbaum)
Dr. West's Medicine Show & Junk Band

You'd better watch out for the eggplant that ate Chicago,
For he may eat your city soon.
You'd better watch out for the eggplant that ate Chicago,
If he's still hungry, the whole country's doomed.

He came from outer space, lookin' for somethin' to eat.
He landed in Chicago. He thought Chicago was a treat.
(It was sweet, it was just like suger)
