Looking good baddy

Ticks! I forget how lucky we are in NZ.....no ticks, no Trump(s), no poison oak or ivy, we do have one poisonous spider

Image

the katipo but they are so rare, their almost extinct.

We do have a non poisonous white tail spider

thay can give you a nasty bite and just so happen to carry a certain type of bacteria that eats flesh, but again these little guys are also very rare, you'd have a better chance of winning the lottery than being bitten.....

This was Mothers day, planted the rest of the stuff, (broccoli and kale in the back went in about 6 weeks ago, the broccoli thinks it's king shit now :) ). Just in time too cuz the soil temp just got to the great zone all days and nights this week.

Yes, the front's planted too dense with ground cover which later will be "trimmed to suit," to not impede the tomatos, peppers and cukes, but to keep shade on the compost to keep it cool, moist, weed free, and alive, (celery, curly parsley, basil, spinach chard, etc for ground cover).

That's STR in the background...

...locked and loaded...

The screens are workin on the broccoli/kale so far, nothing's been touched and the local population in the yard took a nosedive...now as long as they don't cause some unexpected problem, broccoli and kale should be back in action:)

They suspend from existing tomato-string frame, and can move to the front next year, (lol, there are over-wintered cabbage worm larva in the front this spring, expecting to come up to broccoli, but they're gonna get tomatoes :) ).

Star Trek Rock is pretty much done, it will get some food planted next year, or maybe sone flowers, but the area is pretty much claimed.

Below is the earliest photo I could find, this is from when my best friend Hank owned the house. Not a very good photo as Hank didn't like to see the big work ahead so he put up blinds, lol. This is when it was jungle right up to the window. After I bought the house I cleared STR in two phases, the first got the mess about 5meters/yards back away from the window, lurking in that mess is a tick with babesia parasites that had my name on it, 30 hours in the ICU with a 1:6 chance of not going home, the little fukkers ruptured my spleen and took over my red blood cells...out of work a month, and 3 months till my hemoglobin came back...

You couldn't even see STR was there, lol!
Image

Two years later I had time to burn out the weeds and ticks, pull the stumos, pull out the stones where the wall had fallen down, and claim the rest of the area...
Image

I left part of the wall that was still together, it's likely 100 years old, maybe more...
Image

If Hank were still alive, he'd be happy with the view...

The Yellow Fatalii Habanero plants are out. I picked up two.
I also bought a Peach Hab. and a different Yellow Habanero as well.
