I bought tix to Cinema Strangiato the day they went on sale last month and I can't wait! But it definitely won't top when I met Geddy at his book signing in May!!!

It's apparently mostly from the R40 Live tour...

Very much enjoyed it. Alot of funny snippets and the live show was from Toronto 2015.
No trailers for soda or fast food. There was an ad for Fender, another for Gibson, another for the Clockwork Live cd set and a 10 min or so ad for Geddy's new Big Beautiful Book of Bass. Honestly, before seeing this I didn't give half a crap about his new book, but very much enjoyed the ad, hahaha. It looks like he really got into the cataloging of his many basses. They previewed that the 40th Anniversary set for Permanent Waves will be out in November.
The mix of the show was good, not great. Also, seemed to be some latency issues, although that could have been from the theater. Fun to see the band on the big screen. I don't watch alot of concert dvds at home and while I might put this on while cleaning house, it was great to see the details that I'd never notice on the small screen anyway. Some good cameos with the Trailer Park Boyz, Tom Morello, Paul Rudd and several others.

About 3/4 of it comprised of selections from the R40 Live DVD/Blu Ray. The bonus footage was cool but nothing spectacular. Though, at the end, during one of the soundchecks, as the credits rolled, Alex sang a new song, entitled, "The Snider (Snakes & Spiders)." He claims that he was chased by a Snider?!!!

Never been able to get into Rush though I've tried more than a few times. Geddy Lee's high pitched voice is incredibly annoying to me, the music behind it isn't bad but again nothing that has ever tripped my trigger. So what am I missing? I notice a lot of you guys love Rush, and more power to you for doing so, but I just don't get it. I also wonder if this isn't more of a musicians band? I am no musician myself, and perhaps my lack of technical knowledge has something to do with my indifference to this band. I'll keep listening to the every so often and maybe one day it will hit me. But for now I feel I'm one of the few with this opinion. Do any of you guys even as fans ever get rubbed the wrong way by Lee's voice? Are there aspects of Rush that are overrated?

^^^I’m not a hardcore Rush fan but I like them quite a bit. All three guys are great technically (Neil in particular gets a lot of raves) and I find the music and lyrics interesting (though 2112 seemed kind of corny to me). I rather like Geddy’s voice though I know that’s a common complaint from critics. I find them interesting personally too. They seem like intelligent guys who bring that to their music.

I was thinking about starting a thread about artists that are generally well respected and liked but who you/we/I could never really get into. I’m going to go ahead and do that. You’re Rush entry would be welcome there.

I do agree with them being an interesting band, and likely what has led me to keep trying. I will definitely participate in that thread when you get it going. Also appreciate your response/opinion here.

I’m with you cory1984. I don’t think it’s the musician thing - you’re an FZ fan right?

Primus covers RUSH again. Sometimes it's YYZ or La Villa.
