I'm almost as well set with Rush albums as Beatles of Zappa. But Neil had quite a lot of complicated stories for lyrics. Some failed of course. I tried to decipher most of them, the sci fi ones not so much.

I read a bunch of his books too. He had bicycled in China Asia, other spots in Europe etc. Then he got to his primitive organized tour on the West coast of Africa. When traveling any of those places and getting dinner, I always remember Neil's phrase "rice with junk on top." I was in S Korea a few years back and noticed that I was always hungry afterwards if the meal had no rice. So I got rice with junk on top.

After the bicycle tours he switched to motorcycles. I did not follow those books. He has a website somewhere if you are interested. he would tour at one time with his tour security head. If Neil's bike broke down, the security dude gave his to Neil and waited for the road service truck. So Neil could get to sound check. By concert time both were there.

ANTHRAX Drummer Calls TOOL "The New RUSH"

Anthrax drummer and noted Rush fan Charlie Benante recently sat down with Revolver to talk about the last show he attended before COVID-19 shut the whole world down. Benante's last show was Tool, which said "I fucking enjoyed it. I thought they were awesome." Benante later compared Tool to Rush in terms of musicianship and general vibe.

"That band, to me, is like the new Rush. Not that Tool is new or anything, but when I think back to Rush and the songs and just the musicianship and the just the vibe that they had, I feel like Tool have that now. And I just love them. They played songs that I wanted to hear, and I just fucking enjoyed it. I didn't know that was gonna be the last show that I would see for the year, or however long this is gonna be. But, yeah, that was it. So Tool was my last show [before the pandemic], and hopefully it won't be my last show."

So does this mean that Benante is going to start doing Tool covers now too? Here's hoping. Dude clearly has the chops to pull it off.
