Hahaha you know what they're selling here in the orange European football championship craze? Orange toilet paper!
No. More like the kind of splinter that gets stuck in one of your toes.

Tonight Mrs Flycoon and I had dinner with a couple of our neighbors. We used to eat together about once a month, but hadn't since the pandemic hit.

It was quite pleasant...

We are being told by our government that their vaccine roll out programme is going exactly to plan,
a plan which is currently running about a Month behind their originally published timetable.....

Despite our media's continuing efforts to ramp up the fear factor, the reality is that while the
managed isolation and quarantine facilities continue to successfully stop Covid-19 at the boarder,
the urgency to inoculate the general population is not nearly as imperative.....

The fragile Cookie has received her single shot, the balance of our household
are scheduled for July, 2021.....

According to the man, by the man I mean Jacinda,
Aotearoa, New Zealand now has:

2,696 Coronavirus Cases. +17 (since last week)

2,340 Confirmed Cases. +17 (since last week)

356 Probable Cases.

24 Active Cases. + 6 (since last week)

26 Deaths.

2,646 Recovered Cases. + 11 (since last week)

All new cases were discovered in the government run managed isolation quarantine hotels,
with no community transmission.....

Finally!

Today I will face the line for my first COVID vaccine shot. It will be the WINMA type (whichever is nearer my arm)... I will gladly stand and await my turn listening to the just released, still steaming, FZ's Last US Show 88.

A great day! 8)

Restrictions are loosening further. Am getting vaccinated this Wednesday. In a few days face masks will no longer be required in public spaces, except public transport and airplanes.

My BF lives way up north - probably considered next-door to Americans but on the other end of the country for us Dutch - and travelling to him had become a gruelling three hours of wearing that thing - especially if I needed to catch a breath from the bicycle ride or if I had to run to catch it.

Worse, due to Corona the toilets aren't allowed to be used, plus drinking and eating is not allowed. Combine that with the hot hot weather we have here and then picture my train ride home from two days ago... good conditioning for where I'm going after this life I suppose.

Wellington at Covid-19 alert level 2: What you need to know
4 hours ago

As the Wellington region, including Kāpiti Coast and Wairarapa, is set to move to alert level 2, here is a reminder of what that means in terms of guidelines and restrictions.

The announcement comes after a traveller from Sydney to the area tested positive for Covid-19 upon their return to Australia.

The restrictions will start for those areas at 6:00pm on the 23rd of June and are due to last until 12:59pm on the 27th of June. The rest of New Zealand will remain in alert level 1.

At alert level 2, you can go to work and school, but you should follow public health measures and consider others around you.

The exceptions are:
If you are sick, stay home. Do not go to work or school. Do not socialise.
If you have cold, flu or Covid-19 symptoms, call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 and get advice about being tested.
If you have been told to self-isolate you legally must do so immediately.

People who have been at a location of interest at the relevant time should immediately isolate at their home or accommodation and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice on testing.

Get tested if you have cold, flu or Covid-19 symptoms.

People are encouraged to practise good hygiene - including washing hands, coughing or sneezing into your elbow and cleaning surfaces - keep track of where they have been (using the NZ Covid Tracer app or a manual diary) and stay home if they are unwell.

People should also maintain a distance of 2m from others in public spaces and in retail stores.

In other places like workplaces, cafes, restaurants and gyms, people must stay 1m apart.

Hospitality businesses must keep groups of customers separated, seated, and served by a single person with a maximum of 100 people at a time.

Masks are mandatory on public transport and encouraged where physical distancing is not possible.

Gatherings, including weddings and funerals, are limited to 100 people.

Businesses can open, but they legally must follow public health rules. These include physical distancing and record keeping.

Early learning services, schools and tertiary education facilities are open to all ages.

You can do your usual exercise and recreation activities, if you can do them safely.

Professional leagues can go ahead at alert level 2 because they take place in controlled workplaces.

Fantastic news, I'm so pleased that you're all getting yourselves protected out there in the danger zone.....

So our little disturbance in the force, the tourist that flew into Wellington stayed for 50ish hours and flew
out testing positive upon his arrival home. Happily he was using the government's app and apparently
scanning himself in and out of everywhere he went. Unfortunately this guy went to a bunch of heavily
populated locations, causing them to close for the deep clean, and a couple of thousand of folks to
rock up for a test.....
At the mention of the alert level rise, there was an immediate run on toilet paper pasta rice and beer.....
half these mofos will still have toilet paper from their panic buy back in 2020.....

So far there are no positive cases in the community.....

Going for my second shot in a week. Pfizer. No problem other than a kinda sore arm for half a day. We FINALLY !, are not required to wear masks in the street. Summer is going to be nice. However, most festivals and concerts are still cancelled, or those that go ahead have very little international acts. Mostly french acts such as Pomme, Alain Souchon or Jane fuckin' Birkin.....
