We're opening at 6 am, tomorrow. As fate would have it, I am not scheduled to work tomorrow, so I get to stay safe at home!

Likely just sleeves, collars, and a few shredded rags.

On the local news, the other night, they interviewed a man who was camped out at Best Buy's front door for 3 days ahead of the Black Friday sale.
He wasn't even going to go shopping, himself. He had been paid $200.00 to hold the spot for someone else....

Wow, that's amazing, I didn't know that, thanks for the post...and that's exactly where I live, Mystic River has a beautiful road that's on one of my bike rides...the things that happened there.

Mystic river's seaport town has been preserved. It's a museum town now, people dress and work the seaport the old way...

Oh, interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I've been to Mystic. As a kid it was a place of fascination for me as there was a Stamp company there and I collected those. Spent countless hours poring over their catalogs of used and new tiny bits of colored, gummed paper. Driving thru Hartford we took a detour once so I could see what it was like, as a kid. Pretty seaside place.

Where I live, we also have a history of mass killings. People lined up and shot. Hangings down where the bridge used to be. Neighborhoods going up in flames. For someone like me for whom history is always present, it all can seem very loud.

Yeah, what is with this Black Friday Sale crap? Traditionally any Friday that falls on the 13th of the Month is a black Friday, no day off no sales, just superstitious nonsense.....Oh look out it's a black cat!

Most of our big box stores held a Black Friday Sale yesterday, accompanied by an e mail and leaflet campaign that began last Monday: "why wait till Friday, our Black Friday Sale runs from Wednesday through to Sunday" shameless marketing mofos  at least my tank of petrol was a little cheaper yesterday and I earned some air-points on my loyalty card

Thanksgiving '17 at local historic inn. Large family was seated next to my small group. One guy who joined them was dating their daughter and meeting the rest of the family for the first time.He spent plenty of time loudly talking about himself to her father; his life as a truck driver, his numerous skills, the amount of money he had in the bank, and if he was a betting man, would "...place a $1,000 bet on___ to win the Superbowl" The father was going to pay for the meal, but the daughter's new boyfriend -as a way of buying an indulgence- said that he'd cover the entire bill.(These hints are proof that I'm the right man for your precious blonde daughter) He drank about an inch of beer from his mug and he became even louder and more talkative. In the end, his need to impress the father left him no time to eat. He lost interest in the food & decide he wasn't that hungry and left it mostly untouched & mostly wasted, turning his attention back to the beer. My group ate quietly and smiled now and then while being entertained by the boastful trucker who overplayed a good hand.
