Totally Rocks!

In an age where you constantly have to talk to some lady half the world away reading from a script it's so refreshing to have their instant help!

you look for the help button and then click call me and instantly you get a call and they get right on the problem!

Amazon is the ONLY place where I buy my CDs, books and DVDs from. No other place on the net or IRL even comes close.

I have not bought a CD from a store in a couple of years now! What I bought yesterday was an inexpensive watch to use at work so I don't scratch the hell out of my Bolova Marine Star.

One of my friends ordered Steven King's "Rage", with others (I think it was called the Richard Bachman Series, or something like that). Amazon, out of nowhere, told him that he was going to be refunded, and they weren't going to sell him the books.
Comments?

I received a refund once from amazon after I ordered something from a secondary seller. It turned out that the seller did not actually have the item in stock.

Another time I ordered a double-cd set directly from amazon, and only one cd was contained within the jewel case. amazon paid to pick up the defective item and sent another one to me free of any additional costs.

amazon.com rules!!!

Yeah, it does. Perhaps that's the reason why they were held back. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the school shooting.

Anyway, how are the Zappa's on Amazon?
It seems that the NEW ones are VERY expensive ($18.00 for almost less than 40 Minutes of Material!).
I don't mind buying used stuff, but is it generally in good condition? Anyone bought used Zappa stuff from Amazon?

I've purchased numerous used and new cds from secondary sellers at amazon.com. I've picked up new cds for pocket change plus $2.99 (it used to be $2.49) shipping. I'm 100% satisfied.

All 24 Zappa CDs (new and used) that I've purchased have been from Amazon. No complaints whatsoever.

I have to agree, Amazon is pretty good. Just recently I ordered some stuff from them and closed the deal and then realised there was something I needed to add so I made a new order and then tried to combine them to get cheaper shipping. The first order was being delayed slightly because one of the items wasn't immediately in stock, but when I tried to combine the orders the second order had already been processed so it wouldn't allow the combination.

I sent them a message to complain and they responded by giving me a partial refund of the postage to bring it down to the combined value. I told them I realised it was a catch 22 because it's actually nice to know they handle orders so quickly.

Anyway, I've had quite a bit of business with Amazon, they are indeed a great company to deal with.

Holy Crap (x2!)
Tower has WAY more Zappa than Amazon, and it's got Ponty as well.
Thanks, Lumpy

I miss it like you don't believe. I used to have a Tower records right near where I work - you could even see it from my office window. I would often go there after work to blow off steam, and see what's new. I still haven't adjusted to the online purchasing environment, so I've been buying less. Which is kind of a good thing, cause I've focused more on the large amount of stuff I already have.

Here's a handy tip...tell all your family and loved ones to stop buying you gifts and just get you Amazon gift certificates ....and then on Christmas/birthdays and such you can COMBINE the Amazon gift certificates and pick yerself out some cool CD's. It's easy for the family, and really, really cool for you :)

Been doin' it fer years :)

Stephen King allowed Rage to go out of print in the US after a school shooting in 1997:

"The Carneal incident was enough for me. I asked my publisher to take the damned thing out of print. They concurred."
