Did Pink Floyd sell out ?

Yes, they did.

But if Aspy would dance naked to The Final Cut I would think my opinion over.

If Aspy danced naked to any Pink Floyd album, they would all be my favorite.

Just like, one and one don't make two, one and one makes one. So we'll have to meet halfway somewhere.

Wrong.

and yeah, he always resorts to name calling.

Most of the time, no, I don't. But I do when it's necessary. And in your case...

Aybe Sea wrote:
maybe DB has got some serious anger management problems? How else can you explain the way he goes like a rabid weasel on steroids whenever someone mentions that DSotM might be overrated?

That's not what I was talking about. Whether or not The Dark Side Of The Moon is overrated is an OPINION. I'm talking about facts: Waters' erroneous writing credits and Gilmour's lack thereof, etc.

Aybe Sea wrote:
Maybe you DB need to take a step back and realize what you're fighting over?

I'm not fighting over anything. I'm just informing you that the assumptions that you've stated in this thread about Pink Floyd, The Dark Side Of The Moon and even FZ, are wrong. And you can't deal with it (...and you're not alone).

Aybe Sea wrote:
The way you called me a moron says nothing about me, it only shows your complete inability to control your temper, or at least your tendency to shout down anyone who disagrees with you.

Once again, opinions are DIFFERENT from facts. And if you believe what you've stated and hence are trying to discredit the facts, then you're a moron.

Aybe Sea wrote:
Hence, i pretty much agree with those who said that this conversation has gone all downhill. From a pretty rational discussion to a namecalling fest. Beautiful!

You see, you're gettin' it. What you've just stated is an OPINION! And that's FINE by me...

Did Pink Floyd sell out?

I prefer the term, "Cashed in" although both are prepositional phases.

The optimist in me says that Pink Floyd probably sold out night after night and venue after venue, but then again I'm a very literal kinda guy :D

Yeah, I do. I believe the primary reason that the Floyd decided to team up with VW in 1994 was because the first leg of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour back in the fall of 1987 didn't break even, even though it was one of the largest grossing tour legs ever at this point (about $30 million USD). Nick even had to sell one or several of his ferraris to help finance that tour. So, I don't think they wanted to risk this happening again and hence agreed to use VW as a tour sponsor for the European leg of the Division Bell tour in 1994. Gilmour, however, stated afterwards that that was a very bad decision and that they gave the profits of the sales of the VWs to charity.

Man, I urge you to go and listen to the alterated drum solo on Grand Vizier's Garden Party again. It is a true modern piece of work, neatly done...

Amazing:

Yes, not to forget the Genesis VW Golf (Rabbit).

Driving in one of these cars and listening to This note's for you from Neil Young. What a perverted idea.
