All of New Zealand is now down to alert level two, except for the hell hole that is Auckland,
who remain at alert level four and essentially locked down and cut off from the rest of the country
with boarder controls in place. There were 11 new cases detected in the community on Friday, all in
thhti Auckland, and the contact tracing continues.....

Here in Wellington city everyone is required to be masked and distanced in public, scan in and out of
everywhere via mobiles and QR codes, with crowd size and distancing requirements at all gatherings.....
The city is noticeably quieter, it appears that all those that can work from home have joined the
now permanent remote workers from the 2020 lockdown, and are in no hurry to return to the rat race.....

August the 27th, Aotearoa, New Zealand had:

3,297 Coronavirus Cases. +70 (since last week)

2,941 Confirmed Cases. +70 (since last week)

356 Probable Cases.

384 Active Cases. +70 (since last week)

26 Deaths.

2,887 Recovered Cases. + 63 (since last week)

24.4% of the NZ population is now fully vaccinated.

44.5% of the NZ population with 1 or more dose.

(% of eligible population aged 12+)

Covid-19 alive in the community.....

Today September the 11th.....

3,866 Coronavirus Cases. + 569 (since August 27th)

3,510 Confirmed Cases. + 569 (since August 27th)

356 Probable Cases.

617 Active Cases. + 233 (since August 27th)

27 Deaths. + 1 (since August 27th)

3,222 Recovered Cases. + 335 (since August 27th)

32.4% of NZ population fully vaccinated. + 10% (since August 27th)

63.6% of NZ population with 1 or more doses. + 19.1% (since August 27th)

(% of eligible population aged 12+)

Covid-19 still alive in the community.....

Some months ago, seeing the decline of COVID-19 deaths in the USA (less than 100 a day), I thought that it was on the way out.
Then came Delta.

Over 3800 deaths in the last two days. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
I heard that the vast majority of those deaths concerns those who are not yet vaccinated. Logic.
I'd have a wild guess at those rebels, they should mostly be from the Trump nation.
Sticking to some other remedies like horse dewormer and all that shit.

OK. Let'em die if they want to. Their choice. I won't shed a tear.
At this rate, I suppose it will eventually stop and decline again. Less and less unvaccinated candidates to catch it.

THEN, maybe, that will be the end of it.
...maybe...
:P

I was recently having a look at the population data for the US for 2019, 2020 and 2021. One thing I've been finding curious is that in the last eighteen months, nearly 700,000 people have died in the US which is approximately 0.20% of the total population and yet the US, throughout that period, has maintained an expected rate of growth, of just under 0.60%. If you take two thirds of that covid death rate for a one year estimate, then 0.13% is a very significant figure compared to the growth rate and yet if you look at a graph of population growth rate for the US during that three year period, there's no blip. Maybe the data gurus just haven't caught up yet.

We have most of the close family vaccinated so everything normal at the small level, except my mother in law in the nursing home. It has limited visiting to 30 minutes.

I'm not happy about all the relaxing, the younger folk including my son and his girlfriend (the first to be vaccinated as he has contact with a lot of people) attending concerts and sports events.

I've attended one concert, outdoors. I'll be much more happy to attend events when we have the third shot.

I rode 50 miles end of August while my wife and daughter were on a longer ride at this bike club event. The Heat Stroke.

I was exposed to about 50-100 people as I helped all the after ride events such as grilling brats. Have not seen crowds since then.

First time around, "Grandpa let go!
"Grandpa, let go,
Grandpa, let go,
Grandpa, let go.
Grandpa, let go, (front tire sawing back and forth like sawing a tree),
GRANDPA, LET GO OF ME!"

After a while she got the hang of it, I got my bike, and she wanted to lol, race,

"I'm winning,
I'm winning,
I'm winning,
I'm winning!"

You never forget your first time...biking, that is :D

There is some disagreement on the third booster shot. For one, the people that got the J and J shot should definitely get one Pfizer shot, as it will give them the over 90% protection.

But Lancet (paper this week) scientists published a piece saying no. They want to vaccinate the world, to get over the pandemic, and us getting a third shot will "take vaccines away." But the J and J and Astra Zeneca will be used to vaccinate the less developed world, because of refrigeration issues. So us getting a third Pfizer shot will not affect Asia etc. much. Faudi, Biden et al will probably push for a third shot to be given by Nov. That way we will have good coverage till 2022 summer.

From a public health point of view giving rational people a third shot does not slow the pandemic. Therefore many officials put most of the effort to getting the unvaccinated even one shot. The Astra Zeneca is not available here so the J and J is the one shot option. However, drug stores will people that got J and J a shot a of the Pfizer.

well, I got the two moderna shots, but I guess I will have to get the third “booster” shot also, whenever it will be available.

still wearing a mask everywhere I go.
