Hello! Old AFFZ poster here who finally just got around to registering for this forum.

(I posted this question in Activation, but I think that was a mistake...so re-posting here)

QUESTION: I have an original vinyl pressing of Them Or Us that has been pressed wrong. The labels are all correct, but the music from Side 1 is on both Side 1 and Side 2 of the album. Sides 3 and 4 are labeled and pressed correctly. Anyone else ever heard of this happening to other copies?

No, I haven't heard of that one.

I bought Spirit's first album when it was released. One side was in stereo, the other in mono. I returned it, unaware that in the future I would be able to eBay the sucker.

That's one for the old mishtakes thread.

Usually it's an incorrect label but a wrong pressing must be quite rare.

Yeah, I can't find anything about this album with this type of pressing error. I was just a kid when I bought it back in the late 80's and was more annoyed than anything. But now I'm a little curious if it has any value. Any ideas on how I could find out? I guess just take it to a used record store in town?

Mistake pressings with incorrect labels or the wrong music pressed on one side are often just one-offs. They usually don't have any collector's value. One exception was the Hawkwind picture disc single from the '80s where the whole first run was pressed with a Beatles song on one side.
