I just listened to Dweezil's performance at this gig and understand why he doesn't want it released .
I sure don't need to hear it ever again .
I am grateful that it is not going to be on this release .
What Dweezil does now with his dad's music is amazing and a million miles away from his performance here .

Hopefully fans stop promoting any false narrative.

Now I do understand a fans desire to want to hear complete but I am 100% behind the Zappa Trust in honoring DZs wishes.

So if any fans really want to hear Dweezil's solos from this show maybe they can bring their wishes to his attention. I was at that show on the side of the stage DZ performed his guest appearances on. From memory he performed on a candy apple red sparkling guitar. As much as his performances at that time of his career were from a different sonic universe, from a given context DZ was very critical of his performances then. On some projects he would do a solo 100 times to get one he would accept for release.

So go ahead, give him your plea, maybe a video with a candy apple for teachers day. Surely these guests spots were educational for him at that time. In many ways he has grown to teach so it's full circle.

I have no complaints the record will not have these guest appearances, as I said I'll respect that 100%. In that no apologies necessary on anyone's part to accept an all Zappa core band final release. It's a matter of respect. If anyone insists on false narrative well it serves no purpose.

We can be rest assured that the ZT will get the 48 track Sony PCM 3324 16/44.1 Masters to sound as best as technology can deliver today.

I'l buy it at the record store when it comes out. This might be my last FZ purchase, unless some new Synclavier stuff is released (exists?).

I want the Beatles medley snd I have no belief that the removal of DZ performances he wants removed makes any difference, I am glad it’s not an 8-disc set with a mask

I found my 22 yr old cassette of this show :!: :) Dubbed it in '99, still plays great. I don't even remember how exactly I got it, was from a friend of a friend. It's the 2nd half half of the show, split pretty even on a 74 min tape. Side 1 starts w/ Pound For A Brown then into complete Brother A. West rap, ends that side w/ Peaches. Side 2 is Stairway thru America.

I think at the time I wanted this tape to have the Beatles songs, never had the first set or seeked it out. I can not wait to hear this show in top notch sound, yet will always hang onto this tape, to have the A. West part and the songs that Dweezil played on. His solos aren't that bad on here, very EVH/Rhoads influenced of course. Sort of wish DZ didn't give a fuck and said yeah, go with it, warts and all, is what it is.

I'm pretty sure the whole show is available on Zappateers, unless I misread a post a while back.

Yeah, the warts wouldn't sit well in his golfing photos.

And you of course are the very definition of true narrative I suppose.

'88 was so freakin' good! Saw 2 shows. My only regret/wish is that he had brought back Brown Shoes.

Well, better clear something up I guess.

Killing off history is DUMB, but as Frank declared were all DUMB ALL OVER I suppose.

Still would have liked it to be complete Warts and all because that's some of the charm of a Frank Zappa concert and swapping tracks ruins that for this fan.

Besides Dweezil should be proud, he was 18 and got to perform with his dad, no need for embarrassment or anything else and for the record I own and still love his first release 'My Mother Is A Space Cadet,' with Moon Zappa on vocals. Gotta have some Crunchy Water.

Should I destroy that record just because Dweezil may not think it was his best work?????

As other fans have declared it's available on the bootleg domain but that does nothing for proper future releases right?

Here's hoping it's not the last release of the last US show, but hopefully in the future the entire concert with no editing other than track marks can becomes a reality.
