It's on it's way, from Amazon.com!
Final cost, including shipping + customs charges....$78.86 USD
If I'd ordered from Amazon.ca, right now, with tax would = $108.87 USD (and won't be released until Nov. 1)

This packaging is total shit !
Good god, they must think Zappa fans are 10 years old. This is just embarrassing, as well as being a massive waste of shelf space.
I don't know if I should be embarrassed by fans that poot forth on top of what many obviously enjoy. It's that day and age where it's a political platform with overt white eyeshadow for some but honestly some folks really do like the Halloween box sets and that should not rain on anyone's parade or idea of a good time.

My youngest daughter, a Zappa fan was 10 when she attended the family and friends Zappa Halogram Show. She loved the show, memorabilia(FZ Cheepnis Hot Dog Squishy) and Montana Dental Floos Sweatshirt. That is an example of where there are 10 year old Zappa fans that love these and Ahmet's overall artistic vision. I saw some kids at each of the 5 East Coast shows I attended and if it were not for West coast sans Halogram shows being in clubs I am sure I would have seen some of the younger Zappa fans at the 5 shows I saw in LA.

My youngest is now eleven, she is dressing as a devil for Halloween but these costumes are fun for youth and adults. A friend has an adult Halloween party annually of 100 people. I wore the Halloween 77' costume a few years back, that costume was a great standout of talk of old school costumes and Zappa. Many in that crowd spent $100 for their rental or creation. Unfortunately the party this year was before today's release date.

To each their own, first handed we love the Halloween projects. 5,000 Limited Edition Halloween 77' box sets. That seems amazing that 5,000 Zappa costumes are out there and I look forward to 5,000 or so for each of the Halloween Limited Edition Box Sets that is produced. For others that are not fond of consumes and all in the box there are different formats that include all the audio.

Halloween was the Hallmark of Zappa shows. The marketplace and fans have a variety of choices here. Halloween 81' is going to be The Big One. While FZ did perform Felt Forum 84' shows 81' along with The Ritz is where Spoons and Ice Picks To The Forehead should be a wake-up call for any Zappa fans with questions. Having been at all of these shows the magnitude of integrity is of a highly ambient domain. I pray that all Zappa fans continue to enjoy the variety of formats these Halloween sets are produced in.

Ahmet, Joe, Craig Parker Adams, Melanie Starks, Mike Mesker and all those that contribute to artwork and liner notes. Zappa Fans wordwide. Happy Halloween. .....Dominus Vobiscum

In listening to Frank Zappa Halloween 73' an analogy comes to mind. One where King Arthur and his nights of the round table were in search of The Holy Grail. If one thing has been obvious, history has showed that the entire run of Roxy Theater shows, as heard in Zappa Records the Roxy Performances Box Set, that the so called Holy Grail of Frank Zappa recordings made it's way to our hearts, ears and mind.

History also shows us that a holy grail is not only about a physical thing but the quest. In listening to Frank Zappa Halloween 73' it is a reminder of the quest. One part creation as a live event or series of live events, not only in performances but in what FZ released or kept things on tape in a vault. In these 4 track tapes, one where 2 tracks are music, 1 track is audience and 1 track is blank, Frank never made large use of these 4 track road tapes. That was an artistic decision with technology he had during his lifetime.

In what Joe Travers and Craig Parker Adams has put together, musically this is very much the nights of the round table on their quest for the holy grail. The level of fidelity achieved is beyond the imagination of the imaginer. For those lucky enough to have heard early transfers that is one point in time. Possibly Frank never even gave that much consideration with technology at his time. But this is today. Hope and Progress. N'Lightenment has been achieved.

Can we expect that each and every 4 track road tape will sound this good? I certainly do not think so, but in this case, this is a fine example where the quest of the holy grail is self evident in it's radiant splendor. The level of gratitude for the music and packaging is something dear to me. I thank Ahmet, Joe,Melanie, Mike, Craig and all the musicians and fans from the bottom of my heart.

Show 2: During the band member intros, it sounds like Ralph Humphrey is playing "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story on the cowbells. 8)

17/10/2008 · A few years ago, maybe at a ZPZ gig, Dweezil explained that "Redunzl" was one of Frank's nicknames for Gail. She had long hair and would repeat herself when excited or insistent, hence "Redundant Repunzel." Or "RDNZL."

Yeah I knew that. The story. I did not know the official pronunciation followed that.

That's an old forum! I was in there. I have no idea what gmail I used but I would have been Tero. I think we celebrated my getting the complete YCDTOSA set.

Nixon resigned in Aug of 74. So at this time the song was still relevant. In the Roxy shows Reagan made an appearance. Both came back about 88.

Well, this 73 recording will take its place among Roxy, Helsinki, Token. Token has my favorite songs of that era. I guess that my one disc Halloween 73 places Dickie at the end as the major long piece. For a Zappa vocal we get I am The Slime.

I'm digging the rehearsal recordings.

I was at a CSNY concert (August 8th), when Nixon went on TV and announced he was going to resign.
David Crosby came on stage waving this huge American flag and announced it to the audience.
He officially resigned on August 9th.

What amazes me most about this release, are the solos. I have literally 800 audience/soundboard recordings throughout FZ's touring history and rarely, if ever, are there this many excellent solos in one show, let alone two shows on the same night. In fact, I think FZ's I'm The Slime solo in the 2nd show, is actually better than the album version on Over-Nite Sensation...

I saw CSNY on 8/9/74 when Ford took the oath. My show was at the AC Racetrack.
