With mask coming soon according to some social media sources that usually get these things right. CDs? USB candy stick? Full run of shows? Preorder and release date?

Dracula theme this time. So fucking asinine. Can't we please have a "just the CDs" edition? That last huge, space-wasting Halloween box was the first Zappa release ever that I just could not buy; I guess this will be the second.

Well, not quite. It appears that they cut "Strictly Genteel" from the 11/1 show and are putting it on the Highlights CD as an "exclusive."

I am up for this one due to the set lists on the disc, also I find these elaborate box sets get the interest of people and someone may listen that had not in the past...just saying... :smoke:

6 CDs with a stupid mask. A 1 CD of highlights that will contain an unreleased performance...so for you completist nuts, you have to buy all 7 CDs.

The Beatles would not have approved.

Pretty cool cover art at least. I like FZ as Dracula much better than last year's Frankenstein. And the vampire poodles are a nice touch.

I would have preferred a USB stick (and therefore smaller box? 73 looks 50% larger than 77) especially if it contained Oct 29 and 30th. Were they not recorded or have issues? I hope they were not left out only because a few people clamored for CDs.

Just the one disc for me, again. I really only miss Alien Orifice of my favorites that way.

I hope it is immediately available in streaming platforms, as I finally found a way to catch with posthumous releases (importing these days is prohibitive for me)...

I think the '73 box is bulkier because of the Frankenstein hands. The CDs appear to be in just paper sleeves, so they wouldn't really need a bigger box. Can't tell if this one is also larger to accommodate that cape.

I want this music physically on CD, but I for sure won't spend that much money to have the stupid useless packaging (and "but also" Trendmonger's liner notes). Not in this times of reduced and insecure income because of Corona. I skipped the other Halloween boxes completely, but this one is a different beast musically. What shall I do? Wait for downloads? It would be good to have a stripped down version with "normal" packaging, which will probably never happen, though.

At least their keeping the same(ish) packaging for all of the Halloween sets.

That's the point. This packaging seems to irritate a large majority of fans and they keep doing it.

The Beatles would not have approved.

Three Beatles concerts would fit on a single disc with not a decent guitar solo amongst them.

I'm not thrilled with the candy stick, I don't think my computer will play it...I'll have to check, but it's an older model. I haven't purchased the box sets, too much packaging, although I'm interested in any photos coming from the shows. Don't want to spend the dough for it, too much money that I don't have.......I can't believe no one has mentioned Mr. Titone more, someone was very gracious about him writing the liner notes for this, but have we forgotten what a nut job he was when he was on the forum? Didn't he post these extremely long "blah blah blah" deals that I'd just scroll past. I'd forgotten all about him until I saw he gets to have his say. He never did anything to me, he just irked me. Oh well, enjoy the release......
