I'm excited about the new Zappa releases. I was happy to only receive Mothermania. I'm twice as happy to receive the deluxe version of Orchestral Favorites.

I'm purchasing the colored Mothermanie through Newbury Comics. The three CD has also been pre-ordered through Amazon. No brainers here.

My dilemma -- I have already purchased an old Discreet version. Should I replace my 40 year old LP with the reissue?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

If you're not desperate for shelf space, I would keep both. Different covers, and I'll be very surprised if the sound isn't substantially different between the two.

Finally got off my butt and ordered Mothermania.
I could use something new to listen to and I never had this album so this will be a treat.

Are there any additional inserts in the Zoot Allures reissue. I remember the original album just had a generic record sleeve with the only information being on the cover. I don’t play vinyl anymore but I’m considering getting this for nostalgia and display purposes as it was my first Zappa album acquired shortly after it came out in ‘76. There’s a copy of the reissue in our local little record store that has my name on it. I’ve decided if it’s still there when I go in the next time that it was meant to be and I’ll go ahead and get it.

You get nothing with your Zoot Allures reissue. So if nothing is what you want...

I received my copy of Mothermania. The colors are really great looking. The splatter I'm not too impressed by. It looks like kitten whiskers.

I'm looking forward to receiving my Orchesral Favorites.

I've also hear rumors of another Halloween release coming next. We shall see.
Thanks everyone for keeping the Zappa music available for us to listen to.

Orchestral Favorites showed up and is on the turntable at the moment.

Somehow I never purchased it way back when it first came out so this is a real treat.
As always, looking forward to the next album showing up in my mail box.
