Nothing we don't have on vinyl already, but Newbury Comics is taking pre-orders for colored vinyl editions of Hot Rats, Over-Nite Sensation, and Apostrophe. HR on pink/purple splatter looks awesome.

^ And dammit, Hot Rats was cancelled because the pressing was defective. Apparently it will come out later.

Hot Rats cancelled due to defect!

Hello,

Thank you for your recent pre-order of our Frank Zappa exclusive vinyl. We wanted to inform you that in quality checking these pressings, the Hot Rats LP has unfortunately been determined to be defective. Therefore, we are canceling this title from your order. Any other items you may have ordered, including both of the other exclusive Frank Zappa records, will still be processed and shipped to you. Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number for your package.

When the pressing of Hot Rats is confirmed in the future, we will once again make these available for purchase via newburycomics.com. We will notify you with early access to offer you the chance to purchase at that time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have any other questions, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you further.

Defective my ass! You don't notify customers on the dispatch date the vinyl was defective, they should have known this weeks ago! I pre-ordered 3 coloured Zappa vinyls, Apostrophe and Over-Nite Sensation were dispatched today and on the same email they tell me Hot Rats was defective so couldn't send it, it's a con. They must have known weeks ago the vinyl was fucked.

They still haven't returned my money either!

This is why the 'defective' story is bullshit.

Dear Name Omitted,

Your order 95300222988 was cancelled because we did not have enough stock to fulfill (sic) your order.

Your payment has been voided.

Please reply to this email if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank You,

Newbury Comics

Hola TCS... I hear ya. I wouldn't mind havin' those vinyls. So, here's what ya do. You go down to their offices (distance be damned), whip off your shoe and violently and repeatedly pound it on the nearest counter while screaming max volume. As they try to get in a "Is something wrong?", your eyes get bigger and start bulging out beyond the lids. Then you spew like a volcano: "HOT RATS MOTHERFUCKER HOT RATS!! LIMITED EDITION!! SPLATTER VINYL!! GIMME BACK MY MONEY!!". That person may just be the janitor and might not have any idea what you are screaming about, but it will provide the venting necessary after this trauma. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I just got charged £17.18 by Royal Mail (this was on top of the postage I'd already paid) for the deliverty of the coloured Apostrophe and Over-Nite Sensation albums. That takes the price of these two albums to roughly £60! I won't mention the Hot Rats fiasco now, if that went through it would have been over £100 for three vinyls.

Please get a UK distributor

LOL. I've recovered well Arkay, thanks for asking. They've assured me Hot Rats will still be run, so I've calmed down a bit.
Sometimes I go bananas; I have no control over it  I apologised to almost everyone involved

The transition into adulthood is difficult.

Collecting. Hoarding. Jacking up prices. It's all part of being a music lover.

Colored vinyl is the equivalent of Bubble Gum flavored toothpaste.

I hope you enjoy your transition when it happens for ya Downer, is there a long waiting list

Coloured vinyl might be the equivalent of bubble gum flavoured toothpaste to you, I wouldn't know as I've never tried bubblegum toothpaste, I've always been hardcore and just went for the minty fresh stuff. But I like the look of them and so do plenty other people. So you stick to your bubble gum toothpaste and I'll spend my money how I like

Furthermore, they're technically clear vinyl with a splash of colour (it's the fashion right now). Clear vinyl is virgin vinyl and therefore you can be sure that it's never been recycled - lots of black vinyl is recycled. So the best way to be sure you're getting truly virgin vinyl is to get clear vinyls. But you'll know this already being a specialist on the topic.

Now you've opened them I can keep mine sealed

Call me new fashioned but although I still buy vinyl, I prefer listening on Spotify!

Howdy;
Does any one know how come the vinyl records being sold through the Zappa store (store.Zappa.com) are so expensive? They have 'Them or Us' listed as $250. What's that about? I would expect it to be $40 or $50 tops.
Also, any word on the next album to be reissued?
Any answers are appreciated. Thanks.
HH

Nice looking colored vinyls there and like other fellow fans I'm all set for Burnt Weenie Sandwich(B.W.S.)

Personally I obtain vinyl's for the express purpose of having a high quality audio version that kicks the butt off a CD. Not so worried about multi-colour's etc although they are cool and I did cave in and pay up for the amazing Trout Mask Replica multi-colored vinyl as I only had a CD version of the album and it's simply an incredible album that one filled with amazing ideas and best of all, made possible and engineered by the one and only Frank Zappa so it was simply a must have and I'm looking forward to it arriving along with the white vinyl single of Pachuco Cadaver. Will be great to hear it in all of it's sonic glory although a nice Blu-ray audio release would be even better.

Still hoping Frank's version of Captain Beefheart's Bat Chain Puller may be re-released again and perhaps the re-release will be a vinyl or a Blu-ray audio release?

I just received and played my copy of Weenie. (EU pressing).
It is absolutely wonderful ! :D

Let's re-issue the WHOLE catalogue on vinyl (including the posthumous releases) with the same quality in audio and packaging, please. ;)

Chunga's Revenge is on the way to me.
I've only had this on CD before so this will be great to listen to.

Any idea of what is up next?
This money is burning a hole in my pocket.

If anyone is wondering, Chunga's Revenge sounds just as good as everything else they've released on vinyl.
