Carrying on the fine old Barfko tradition.

That's ok. The UK box set and King Crimsom '80's box set are coming out before then and are demanding my entertainment dollars. I can wait.

So DAMN excited about Meat Light and Little Dots. I really want to know the source of the artwork on Meat Light as well.

Today smile.amazon.com* has dropped the pre-order prices on all three Meat Light / Chicago '78 / Little Dots CDs for 4 November 2016 release. Bundling all three is $53.05 plus sales tax plus free shipping.

I just ordered all three.

Try not to get too radicalised!

Depends on what you mean by radicalised. The current use of that term refers to broken people without a rudder getting sucked in to some psychotic nightmare or another. That does not apply to me and besides, that use of the word degrades the word radical. I've always been a radical, but one that wants to have nothing to do with ice pick wielding freaks with hit lists for after the revolution.

Good one Nice Guy! But they have done well lately and I have no problem with little delays - Meat Light is coming!

The combined price has now dropped just below $52. Amazon adjusts the pre-order price to the lowest price. 8)

They are all 3 Prime too. Free 2 day shipping. New releases have been shipping Friday morning, and arriving in my mailbox by Saturday noon.

According to my Amazon.ca order history, Meat Light and Little Dots have been shipped, and should be in my mailbox tomorrow.

Got my copy of 'Chicago '78' today. 'Little Dots' & 'Meat Light' have not shipped yet.

Fun times at amazon.ca apparently.

Got 'Little Dots' today in a box big enough to ship a toaster oven and received a notification that I'll get Meat Light on Monday.

I've just finished listening to discs two and three of Meat Light.
Disc one is billed as original 1969 vinyl mix and is the entire album on one disc. Hurray for that!
Disc two is billed as original sequence, and is divided into part one, two and three, obviously what would have been sides one, two and three back in the day.
Disc three is also billed as original sequence, and tracks one to eleven are referred to as part four, with tracks twelve to thirty two as From the Vault.
My only complaint is that disc two is only 58 minutes, and part four would have fit on the second disc, making a complete original sequence. I think they dropped the ball on this part of Meat Light.
Could this be a homage to the original cd issue of Uncle Meat, with King Kong (side four) on the second disc?
The music is great though, the original sequence is interesting, with some bits of music and dialogue that don't appear on Uncle Meat as we know it, and some other tunes from the original dropped. The from the vault stuff has some nice outtakes, alternate mixes and a really interesting continuation of "If we'd all been living in California..."
So, somewhat mixed feelings, but I probably had impossibly high expectations for this set, and it is just a first listen.
Little Dots is up next for a spin.

So, given that for some, all three are already available, being told that there have been delays cannot apply to production of the masters and must apply to a wait and see printing strategy. All three of mine are being shipped in a single package destined to be shipped on Nov 4th, so I guess mine haven't been printed yet.

They're testing them on Canadians first.

Hmm...I wonder if the releases are in the stores yet? As some posts mention Amazon has already shipped them out.
For those that already have "Meat Light," is some of the material on the Uncle Meat demo on it?
I think I'll check out my local indie store today.
Uncle Meat is still my favorite Mothers album. ( As is BWS and Weasels)

Later that day....

I checked out my local indie store "Vintage Vinyl." "Meat Light" won't be released to stores until Nov. 4.
Oh well...something to look forward to this Friday. They already had the "Live Chicago '78" CD though.

I've had another listen to "Meat Light" (on headphones this time) and I am enjoying it. Two of the new pieces, "Whiskey Wah" and "The Whip" are heavy guitar solos with some driving percussion. And there are indeed subtle differences in the pieces we all know and love, some shorter, some longer, often by a few seconds. There are also a couple of instances where some electronic weirdness from "We're Only In It For The Money" are used to transition from one piece to the next. I'd say that the only duff track on the original sequence is "Cops and Buns". Six minutes of people arguing is too long by half. It's telling that Frank left it off the version of "Uncle Meat" that was released.
I've never heard the "Uncle Meat" demo, so I can't say if any of this is on the demo. And after another look at the booklet, in the personnel list, Bunk has sadly been demoted from Bunk "Sweetpants" Gardener to Bunk "Sweatpants" Gardener.
And I will add that "Little Dots" is incredibly fantastic.

The combined price has dropped, yet again. It's down to $48. Expected to ship November 9.
