Isn't that the same question as: When do you lick at your stamp collection?

The beauty of Zappa's music would be it's versatility. I can always find a tasty track to play for what ever the situation.

I find myself playing his records in the morning more than other times of the day. I like to listen to him with my morning coffee.

It’s more of a periodic thing. About once a year I play numerous albums and my own made lists for several weeks. I’ll play some classical music in that period as well. No other vocal music. The rest of the year, one or two albums a month. There are some 20 albums or copies with two albums per CDR always on hand in the house. In the car, two discs.

I tend to pretty much only listen to "the collection" in the car and occasionally on the motorcycle or bicycle, plus every opportunity that I can engineer at work, but mostly during my every waking hour at home and when I'm walking around the city on business or wading about at the beach or rambling about in the bush. Other than that Hades, I'd have to say, I barely listen to FZ at all.

Usually when the mood just hits me and my mind needs to hear some Zappa. I might go some weeks where I just
want to listen to classical music. Other weeks I'll just listen to blues, jazz, or rock music. It all depends on my mood.

I used to do most of my listening during my constant travel by car for work (disc selection was always a long thoughtful process), but now I am almost exclusively home and the urge hits me and I will binge listen when the mood strikes me... :smoke:

The best time is after you open your order from Barfko Swill(or however you ordered it).
iPod shuffle is a very nice surprise way, too. Sometimes I get a double or triple play.

oh i could never listen to my zc in the car.
there would be too much going on inside and outside of the car for me to really enjoy the whole audio experience.
i couldn't really absorb and melt into the sounds upon driving, or even riding in an automobile.

i like to hunker down in a warm (not hot) bath tub when i inhale the glory.
often times i'll set my collection on random and strategically place four speakers in "their places".
i do not even want the temptation of looking at a digital readout.
this gives me the pleasure of riding on the edge of my seat AND having the most fun i could possibly have upon being naked :!:

The kids and wife were asleep and I was downstairs doing some work on my laptop. I listened to side A of Chungas Revenge. Jesus, I'd forgotten how good it was. A real showcase for the new band. Aynsley Dunbar is on fucking fire on the Nancy and Mary Music.
Listened to it twice for good measure

Now and then. Mostly when I'm driving or doing Chef work.
