I'll go along with that. The '60s dialogue on there might just as well have been recorded especially for CP3; while the newer dialogue with the pop-cultural references ("MTV Raps!") was dated as soon as the album was released.

I'll agree with all that. CP3 is a great album but that all felt a tad bit forced. Still a masterpiece in my opinion though.

Uncle Meat - the added tracks.
Burnt Weeny Sandwich - WPLJ and Valarie. I mean they're good, but they would have been better in Cruisin'.
Weasels - title track.
WOIIFTM - perfect, but The Chrome Plated... gets boring sometimes.
Freak Out - Monster Magnet gets boring sometimes too.
Absolutely Free - the added tracks.
The Grand Wazoo - this one's perfect 8)
Roxy - Dummy Up.
Waka Jawaka - Your Mouth is good, but doesn't kick asses like the rest of the album.
Hot Rats - also perfect. 8)
OSFA - Can't Afford No Shoes.
Läther - the Sheik Yerbouti tracks, For The Young Sophisticate, A Little Green Rosetta, Big Leg Emma. It's a pity it doesn't have the full version of The Ocean Is The Ultimate Solution.
Lumpy Gravy - perfect. 8)

Those are preety much my favourite albums.

I'm a big supporter of this track. Even made a thread on it. I think it scorches. Play it really loud, get swept up in the chorus especially the second one and really listen to those guitar fills and horn flourishes.

Agreed 100% the versions on SY are scorchers but seem like dull demos here.

OSFA is almost perfect.

It is a belter but I can see where he is coming from as it loses some power coming right off of the mighty Inca Roads.

I'm listening to it now. What the fuck was I thinking?
Po-Jama People, then. The solo's great, but the rest is just plain boring, and I don't find his pedophile voice funny on this track.

Still firm on this one. I mean it's nice and catchy, but put it against the other 3 songs of the album. Definitively the weakest.

The guitar solo track (St. Etienne) from the wonderful Jazz from Hell,
totally ruins the flow of the album for me, always skip that song.

That's an amazing solo but I'm convinced it should have been the closing song.

I have nothing against the solo, i just think it's out of place on Jazz From Hell, we have guitar solo's coming out of our ears, I would have liked another synclavier song on that album, as i said it ruins the flow for me.

There aren't any bad moments on most of my favorite FZ albums but there is one one song I usually skip on one of my favorite albums....

The Purple Lagoon.

I listen to it whenever I listen to Lather all the way through but it's not a song I ever choose to listen to. There's some good moments but I find the wanking of the horns at certain points a little bit much.

I don't like Michael Brecker. I've listened to him through ZINY and The Birthday Concert (Jaco Pastorius), but have no idea about his solo works.

I'd have to revisit it I guess. Like I did with Can't Afford No Shoes.

Here's some that I can think of:

BTHW - What Kind Of Girl? Meh.
GW - If I'm not in the mood, Calvin can be a little meandering at times.
SY - Again, moodwise, the Bobby Brown / Rubber Shirt / Tango sequence slows the pace of the album down.

Tinseltown rebellion gets skipped. Not cos its offensive, but cos FZ seems so 'dinosaur' like in it.

I usually skip "Fine Girl" on TTR (I love TTR) since it sounds so out of tune with the rest of the album.

I love fine girl. It's so infinitely singable and the harmonies at the end kick ass but it is sort of out of place. Would have suited YAWYI better.

I think TTR is a killer record though but Now You See - Now You Don't It is pretty weak in my opinion.

Broadway The Hardway is one of my top 10 Zappa albums. It's so damn musical, all the songs are singable and all the american anthem quotes and humor really appeals to me but Murder By Numbers is the lowest point for me. The intro is amusing and Zappa's soloing is cool. But I don't care for sting or his lyrics.

I love Numbers! The worst moment for me is Any Kind Of Pain because it gets really stuck in my head. Just by reading this it got stuck there now.
