My second copy has tiny litlle scratches on the beginning of side 2.
The needle stays in the groove, but I can hear annoying clicks during the first seconds.
This is due to a grain of sand that was stuck in the plastic sleeve.
What's wrong between Pallas, Germany and the store in Paris where I got it?
Will try to exchange it ... Pffffffffffffffffffff
Plastic Sleeve = static electricity

I got to the store early and ended up being 1st in line. I put my chair by the door and sat in the car for a 1/2 hour.

People steadily showed up after that. Plenty of record nuts talkin about records.

Image

We got donuts about 630am, and the doors opened at 8.

Image

None of the other Side-by-Sides looked good, so I took a chance on the Mystery one, backed w/ same song by Husker Du.

Electric Wizard - Time to Die, double clear vinyl, w/ poster
Image

of Montreal - Snare Lustrous Doomings, double yellow and orange vinyl, w/ booklet

Yeee Ha!
The store accepted to exchange my scratched record against a new one that was not in the shelves yesterday (hidden stock?).
And the new copy has a smaller number, 1475 instead of 1478. :D

Amongst RSD releases, I also got:
  • Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (7" single, US edition, N°740 stamped in golden letters, there is a european edition too with a different numbering stamped in black on white and it has a different price)
  • David Bowie - Changes (7" picture disc)
  • Johnny Winter - Live Bootleg Series Vol 4 (translucid LP)
  • Johnny Winter - It's My Life, Baby (12" + digital download)
  • Jaco Pastorius - The Warner Years (12")

Unless somebody is gaming the eBay listings, one copy of the purple vinyl 45, without even a mention of the edition number or a photo of the actual copy, has already sold for $99.99! There's one born every minute...

The 3 first results I get are:
- Apostrophe ('): 339 €
- Apostrophe ('): 359.99 €
- OSFA: 179.99 €

They RUINED every single one of those by putting the fucking price tag right on the fucking plastic sleeve!! Idiots. WTF!

I just scored #0901 on eBay for $13.99 including shipping.

Also...
it came in at #44 in the top 100 of sales for RSD 2015

Calm down Jay.

If the price tags leave glue residue, here is what you do.
1. Put a dab of WD-40 on a paper towel, and rub off the glue residue.
2. Put some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel, and wipe off the WD-40.

+1 There's an app for that. The same one you use to clean your vinyl records, PC screens etcetera. They're made for that purpose! Read the label 1st...

Yes Jay, I can report, for the record, that there are as Vince Neil of Motley Crue infamy would say "mother fuckin' price tags right there on the mother fuckin' sleeves!". :P

No I will not calm down about it. I think that is just very irresponsible of record stores to put price stickers directly onto the sleeves of records. Especially new ones and collectable ones. It's like they have no respect for the value of the items. And why the fuck do I need to go home and spend my time cleaning off the labels. Sometimes they are not that easy to get off. And in a lot of times they can ruin what is a mint condition album cover.

Now see my signature and then go take a bath in a vat of battery acid.

Jay has seen Breaking Bad, he knows that battery acid will eat through a bath tub, and lower your property value
