I've always loved this album, originally owned on cassette and played to destruction on my first sound system by Philips.....

When this album came out in the summer of 1971, our house was being remodeled. I had just moved back into my bedroom, but the door wasn't hung yet. So I had to play the album at really low volume so my parents wouldn't hear the words!

I had gone to college, but I certinly did not play it the summers at my parents’ home. My mom had already banned playing Ummagumma ”with all the screaming and noise” when I was in high school. We had just one car so mom was nearly always home. Thinking back, her English was OK but she knew no slang words, so she probably would not have figured out Flo and Eddie.

I got dad to listen to a few cuts off Hot Rats, though. He had liked swing and big band. :D

If you are not into torrents, you can compile most of the Fillmore concert with

1 Fillmore album
2 Playground Psychotics: Status back Baby to Billy The Mountain
3 Small eternity with Yoko Ono, if you wish

it runs an hour and a half

Although the comedy material tends to dominate, this album has some very incredible instrumental moments. I think "Little House..." that opens the album is my favorite version of that song rachat de credit bancaire. "Peaches" is quite nice here too, and the guitar solo on Willie the Pimp is as raunchy as ever.

Still, not one of my favorites, but it's pretty essential for these reasons as well as its conceptual continuity with 200 Motels.

You're absolutely right. It's really a delight for the ears. In any case, thank you for sharing.

Frank said he couldn't join the tracks since they were from two different performances and he was loath to make a break in the middle of the CD. This is why "I'm So Cute" is truncated on Sheik Yerbouti and we're missing the guitar solo on "Dumb All Over" on You Are What You Is. In the latter case, Frank said he never liked the solo anyway. WTF?!?!?

Different performances in different keys wasn't it?
