It's been out of print for a while, who knows how the ZFT decides what stays in print. It's astonishing to me that L├Ąther has been unavailable for some time now.

Discogs has it for $36.

First of all, thank you for the info.

That website has to be the best-kept secret in all of the internet, you can search for days without hitting it.

And they only stock two products - The Bat Chain Puller CD and a Trout Mask Replica pin. Their accountant must have a pretty easy gig.

They'd probably sell more CD's from the back of a covered wagon in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

Mega superb.

Alas it's only really good if you live State side. Minimum of $83 USD to mail a single CD to Australia. What a load of BS.

Still at least it's available, maybe there's some other live albums I might be able to add to the order to make it worth while.

Thanks for the great link.

you could always sip on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC2lRfF ... MYtAP1CIAC

until a decently priced copy pops up.

Well, I can't see it getting any cheaper than $14. What would you consider a decent price?

eh... 8 bucks seems decent.
let's just pretend for a second that a) zappa had no involvement with this recording
and b) he never gave high praise to the album.

would you still be so eager to snatch it up?

Just for the record, I'm pretty sure that Zappa had no involvement with this recording. I'm also unaware of any high praise given to this album by him.

But it's Captain Beefheart, of course I'd snatch it up. I owned a bootleg of this long before it was officially released with quality nearly as bad as the crap on YouTube.

But good for you to hang on to that extra six bucks.

Have had this CD since ZFT first released it. Love it, and it's counterpart album Shiny Beast. There are some songs I like better on BCP, and some better on SB. SB has a better overall album flow. BCP has a certain vibe, that spook, that wasn't really captured again on the last 3 Beefheart albums, though Doc At the Radar Station remains my favorite late era Beefheart album to this day.
Very surprised there hasn't been an official vinyl release of BCP. Would be an instant buy here.

Also, considering that this album was the first release after the dismal 'Unconditionally Guaranteed' and 'Bluejeans and Moonbeams' albums, I think it would have gone over large had it been released in 1976.

Although my personal favourite of the final batch of releases is also 'Doc at the Radar Station', I prefer these versions to the ones on the Shiny Beast release.

No problems at all with the price of the album, it's the insane postage cost and complete lack of any response from the seller that makes me hesitant and somewhat unsure as to if there's anyone on the other end.

Will probably make do with my vinyl of this release(weird bootleg record that was made from the CD????) until it's available with reasonable postage options.
