Until there's a reliable source, I guess {pun intended} that's all we got. Myself included.

One source is our ears. Anyone hear a guitar part on that album that sounds like Lowell George played it? I haven't noticed one.

from wiki...
George was hired by Zappa to replace Ray Collins.
Lowell George provided guitar and/or vocal for Hot Rats (uncredited).
Anyone hear a vocal part on that album that sounds like Lowell George sang it?

Of course there is only one vocal on Hot Rats and it is by Captain Beefheart.

My guess is he never listened to the album.

I don't doubt that. I can't point to anywhere on the album where there's a distinctive Lowell George guitar part.

I'd say he knows his own guitar playing and he never heard Hot Rats.
