I finally got around to picking up this album after seeing it at a ZPZ show last year and totally forgetting about it. It's greatness. The "Broken Hearts Are For Assholes" on here is killing me with those space alien textures.

The alien space textures are perfect. There would be no sense to imitate Bozzio...

You, sir, are made of awesome and win.

But, the Buffalo on the Buffalo cover looks like it has 5 legs... or am I imagining it...

That fifth leg is just an extension of matted hair, which is common to buffaloes, it's on the side of the animal facing front in the picture and only looks like it's on the ground in the background. Those flaps of hair are a common feature of buffaloes.

Did you really take the time to explain that

If you thought that question was stupid, wait til you hear this one:

According to the all-knowing FZ discography site (you guys know that one... glabalia.net/etc...) There's a quote from Filthy Habits in Cosmic Debris on this album. But, I don't hear it... perhaps I'm going deaf in my old age, but can anyone point me to the right moment in time?

Sometimes it's so quick you don't realize it's there.

Try listening to the part where Zappa says "With the oil of Aphrodite and the dust of the Grand Wazoo". The synthesiser/sample melody played there might be what he's talking about but I'm not sure what else it could be.

Thank you. Ya know, that exact thought crossed my mind while listening to it on my way to work (yes, Buffalo has not left my cd changer since i first got it a week after its release), but I figured that I should listen to Filthy Habits again (not sure which one... Lather edits or Sleep Dirt, shouldn't matter though I don't think).

I actually don't think that's it. I think it's some of the keyboards right at the beginning of the solo.

I was wondering the same thing! I've been listening to disc 2 for a week now in the car and it keeps playing over and over and I keep wondering why I have no desire to put in a new disc.

With all the complaints about Frank Filipetti's mixes, I guess I'm a sucker for still liking this (and Philly '76)...
