I too have left a few online forums in the past in a rather dramatic fashion if conflicts between some members become unbearable or i sense that the forum's atmosphere has become too dense for me. i've done both things: a "goodbye this cruel forum" thread and deletion of my own account. i must say that such tactics are pure attention begging. the question is, does one really want rest from all the tension or is one merely pleading sympathy for oneself?

If you feel you can't take it, other people "treat you like shite", if you're tired of all the conflicts, if you feel you're trolled, then leave as unnoticeably as possible. All the attention begging and dramatic action only shows how attached to the forum you really are, no matter how hard you feign wanting to get away.

Oh, what does that prove? We have a dead thread with a fake "first reply" and some made-up quotes. But is there any real, solid proof? No. You'll notice that I never replied to this stupid thread, because I never created it in the first damn place. You can stomp up and down and throw a temper tantrum all you want and claim that I deleted posts I never made, but it will never change the fact that the both of you are in the fuckin' wrong.

Sincerly bite me. You still going on about this shit? Wow, that's sad. That is sad. You are a sad excuse for a member of the human race.

BTW, Thana Harris DOESN'T suck.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out. More people mixing it up is far more fun for all of us! I've been driven to some mighty fine anger on this forum more than once but you say fuck it and move on. You cant change people and what they are.

i see. but how would you define weakness? if i prefer a more civilized dialogue to all the name-calling ad hominem wankery that sometimes occurs, does that mean that i'm a weak person who cannot tolerate cynicism? i think it's a strength to realize you can get your point across without using petty tactics. usually one resorts to abusive tactics and harassment of other members when one sees that his own arguments carry no weight at all. well, isaac is definitely the one.

and yeah, Henry Cow forum would be cool. I love that band.

Perspective is everything. Like I said you cant change someone (unless you chop them into little pieces - literally). So discount what they say and move on. Persistence!

Cow is one of those bands that is just so fucked up that I gotta love them. So different and yet now... so familiar.

Yeah, I'd enjoy a Henry Cow forum too... so I can log on every day and harp on about how much better their instrumental stuff is, how Dagmar Krause's vocals suck and how their lyrics are basically just commie propaganda. ;)

Other nifty thread ideas for the Cow forum:

Geoff Leigh vs. Lindsay Cooper: which one sucked?
Cheap at Half the Price: Fred Frith sellout?
Where Can I Get the Sheet Music for "The Decay of Cities"?

Let's not forget the travesty of 'Leg End's' first cd issue, where they had the audacity to remix the entire thing and overdub bassoon parts 20 years later! Blatant musical revisionism! Yeah yeah, 'the tapes were in poor shape', that's what Zappa said as well...

I first heard the original CD of "legend". I thought the remix sucked and made the compositions sound a bit dull, even though I persevered and tried to appreciate the music anyway. Then, i heard the original vinyl mix, now available on 2nd CD re-issue and it was way better. it was more clear and i liked how compositions sounded more lively as well.

I never heard the original vinyl before I got the first cd issue (Henry Cow vinyl wasn't exactly common stuff in the second-hand bins when I started listening to them in the 90s), so it never really bothered me.

I actually think the remix works better in some spots (blasphemer!), although that might be just because I listened to it for years before the second cd issue came out.

To this day I haven't heard anything but the original CD issue, and I never liked it, even though I like the rest of their albums. Judging by your comments, it's probably about time I upgraded to the original mix. Had no idea it was that much worse!

Western Culture's my fave, by the way. That and the Frith solo stuff on Ralph (Speechless, especially).

Western Culture would be my favorite too. Speechless is awesome. Any of you get into that Fred Frith promotion thing years ago from I think ReR where they had all the re-issues numbered and then they promised a hand signed book about him as well? The bastards havent done shit in years on that. I havent gotten anything new or heard from them forever! I wrote a year or more ago and asked what the hell was happening and they said it was still a go but were waiting on something.

'Bittern Storm Over Ulm' (from 'Unrest') is one of my all-time favorite instrumentals. Any category or genre.

I think I certainly know what I did or didn't say.

Anyone can start a thread with a fake "deleted first reply" -- who are people going to believe, the person who this shit is being attributed to, or some well-known liars?

Cut the horseshit. All of you are wasting your fucking time with this crap.

Enough is enough --- I admitted I was wrong.

The more you people go around calling me an idiot, YOU will look like an idiot.

Face it: I'M RIGHT MOST OF THE TIME!

You don't have to go around slamming the door in my face whenever my fingers slip-up, and I accidentally type something I never meant to say.

What I meant was: NONE of ZAPPA'S LP sides went over 25 minutes.

I wasn't referring to every single album ever made, and I never meant to say "20 minutes."

Show some fucking sense, you ignorant hicks!
